Aircraft carriers turn faster than Luke Schenn and he's managed a very respectable career and is still good at 33. Skating is becoming kind of overrated these days.

Scouting report from watching two periods.
Transition game:
Makes the right decision most of the time. Can either stick-handle his way in or find an open seam to pass. Seems comfortable at skating the puck despite not having elite tools in terms of skating or hands. His team trusts him to handle the puck. He is comfortable/competent, but not smooth/fluid.
Skill:
Can make plays in tight. His passes usually hit the mark. Has pretty good hands. Can moderately stick handle in traffic. Hard shot and does not overuse it.
Powerplay:
Plays the point on his off-hand. Sees the ice well and makes the right pass most of the time. Because he does not possess elite hands or skating, he does not project as a #1 PP QB. I can see him as a #3 option in case of injuries.
Defense:
Slow feet. Can be beaten wide. He's the kind of defenseman where if you see a loose puck and you see Chadwick in front of you, you may as well skate hard to that puck because there's a low chance Chadwick will rock you. Straight-Line speed is average at best. He likes to park himself in front of the goalie, but I feel his positioning can be off at times.
If a player manages to generate a breakaway past Chadwick, he is screwed. If he is in open ice, he is also screwed. Really easy to beat on the outside.
As opposing players skate around the net, Chadwick will try to swipe on low-risk plays. His slow feet prevents him from recovering his position. I feel this will get exploited at higher levels of play.
Physicality:
Big, but not consistently physical. When he uses his physicality, it does not seem like he knows how to use it in order to generate positive results.
Hockey IQ:
Pretty good decision-maker in offensive situations and when he has space. Will not force a pass and will only shoot it if he sees an opening. Very good offensive instincts. Patient, in a good way, on the pp.
Conclusion:
An interesting offensive d-man. Projects to be bottom pairing if he makes it to the nhl. Needs faster feet as he can't recover when beaten. Decent with transitions and possesses good offensive instincts. Poised, but lacks high-end skill and skating.
