Was his profile pic on twitter always him as a little boy wearing habs goalie gear or did he just change it?
He’s already stated he will turn pro && sign with Habs - I’m sure a deals already in place awaiting announcementWas his profile pic on twitter always him as a little boy wearing habs goalie gear or did he just change it?
Then he ain’t coming. He will want to burn a year. You want a Cutter Gauthier repeat? He won’t come if the year is not burned, like all legit talents from the NCAA.
When he was drafted i remember he made it pretty clear he was super happy because he was a huge Habs fanWas his profile pic on twitter always him as a little boy wearing habs goalie gear or did he just change it?
I can’t see the Habs taking a chance playing him when the playoff race is this tight. I know Monty won’t play all the remaining games, but Imagine Fowler plays and loses and they miss the playoffs? The team will get ripped to shreds. It’s too late and too tight to throw him in there. I suppose he could come in for relief if they have a good lead? Then he ain’t coming. Can't be worse than Dobes flip-flopping like a fish in his net.I can’t see the Habs taking a chance playing him when the playoff race is this tight. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see him succeed right away.
Just changed it.Was his profile pic on twitter always him as a little boy wearing habs goalie gear or did he just change it?
And why the f*** are you bringing Leonard up in the Fowler thread then?Washington is doing quite well in recent years with their draft. The Protas brothers, Leonard, Crystall, Hutson….
Unless there is a mandated time on ice Fowler could backup and if needed to get on the ice maybe it’s in the final seconds of a period. The expectation would be that if he signs he’s burning an elc year. Habs need to figure a way to make that happen and present that to Fowler’s agent or rep.I can’t see the Habs taking a chance playing him when the playoff race is this tight. Don’t give yourself a heart attack. And why the f*** are you bringing Leonard up in the Fowler thread then?
Not really the same situation but when Price joined the team didnt they send him to Hamilton and he won the Calder cup right away?

Not saying he isn't going to sign shortly but his twitter profile has been this for a whileJust changed it.
My guess is he just signed his deal.
Need to see the ice at some point. Look at the Habs goalie stats on GP. Combine at this time would be like 80 given that someone was pulled during games. Goalies do t get a GP if they don’t see the ice.The thing with Fowler is that we can't afford to burn a year of his ELC and let him start one game while we are in the PO race. If he is a backup on the bench, does it count as a game played ?
That can be a solution then, you work with 3 goaltender, put him on the bench and practice for a week, then send him to AHL and do 50/50 with Primeau or Dobes and if he does well then he starts the playoffs in LavalNeed to see the ice at some point. Maybe you find a way to sub him in for a few seconds to get his GP stat.
Surely according to who? Will Fowler be signed soon, or will he decide to stay one more season in College ? I think he wanted to win the National Championship badly before signing his first pro contract.
Leonard would surely had been a better option over Reinbacher (knowing Habs did not want anything to do with Michkov).
Why can’t we afford to do that? The thing with Fowler is that we can't afford to burn a year of his ELC and let him start one game while we are in the PO race. If he is a backup on the bench, does it count as a game played ?
Whatever the Habs need to do to get him to burn an elc year they will promise and have a plan for it, before Fowler signs. He's going to play in Laval most likely for the next 2 seasons, which would conclude his ELC deal. So, his next deal would likely be a 2 year bridge type one to serve as a backup. Now, FLA did burn Knight's year 1 and ended up signing him for $4.5 mill AAV for 3 years afterwards, but he basically played very little in the A. I don't think Fowler will be mirroring that development. That can be a solution then, you work with 3 goaltender, put him on the bench and practice for a week, then send him to AHL and do 50/50 with Primeau or Dobes and if he does well then he starts the playoffs in Laval
He is 20 years old so his contract cannot slide. The thing with Fowler is that we can't afford to burn a year of his ELC and let him start one game while we are in the PO race. If he is a backup on the bench, does it count as a game played ?
Hamilton had Halak and Danis when Price arrived there in April ‘06. Do you recall what then transpired? Fowler is “their guy,” just like Price was then for Gainey. He will definitely get starts in Laval If that’s where he goes. With Laval having an elite number 1 (at least at the AHL level) and a solid number 2 I dont see Fowler playing against this year if he get signed and sent down to the Rocket. I think he will just train with the team and witness their playoff experience.
