Yep Fowler turns 20 this month. He signs after his sophomore year...he is more than ready for pro hockey

"He's nevah been not the top goalie evah. Evah. Look at the numbahs"

"He's nevah not been the top goalie in the entiah league"

"He's nevah not been the highest save percentage in every league he's evah been in"

- Billy Ryan
🤣

I wonder what is the best NCAA season by a goalie. Fowler is dominating out there his stats and eye test are through the roof. He could easily be an AHL #1 goalie right now.

Next year is going to be very interesting between Primeau, Dobes, Hughes, Fowler and Miller.

One of them has to be out unless they start two of them in the ECHL.

Alternatively, they keep Fowler in the NCAA, but I see no reason for that apart from roster logistics.

Or they don't sign Miller due to his injury history.

I remember how often I argued with people here about how important Price's puck handling was for our team and underestimated.

Monty and Primeau are trash at handling the puck behind the net and it shows.
Fowler puck handling looks good but I want him to take it to the next level even more so we can have a counter to puck dump in the future. It's such a crucial part for fast counter attack or to just kill plays.

So instead of giving up the blue line we could stand our ground and force the opponent to dump it to Fowler like we did with Price.

They'll just run a 3 goalie carousel with Monty, Primeau, and Dobes. Whoever has given up 5 the least recently gets the start

Forever thank you Billy Ryan. You are famous amongst habs fans just for that. I am as confident about Fowler as any other prospect in the entire nhl, he just has something

You can be the most athletically gifted goalie in the NHL and it doesn't matter if you don't have it between the ears. Thats where goalie scouting fails most time.

Subban and Samsonov are great examples of athletically dominant goalies who aren't good.

Fowler proves everyone wrong all the time and the fact he's gone up a level this year because he wasn't satisfied not being voted top goalie and not winning the last game is a huge tell that this kid is built different.

Primeau and Dobes don't have contracts for next season (both RFA), I expect the Habs to only keep one of them to be the backup next year and trade the other.

I'm sure there are goalies who have put up better stats like GAA and SV%. But last year, Fowler did set a new record for most wins by a freshman goalie in the NCAA last year. A record previously held by Al Montoya. Montoya had 30 wins in 2002-03. Fowler had 32 wins last year. Montoya also did it in 43 GP. Fowler did it in 39 GP.

I wish that one of the Habs podcasts would get Billy Ryan on their show. I'd love to listen to an interview with that guy.

Here's all my Fowler vids from this season, overall it says I have 47 vids of his, After leading the NCAA with the #1 PK last year, they are #1 in the nation again and so far haven't allowed a PP goal.
