we need Chabot, Batherson, Tkachuk to do their part so we do not have to rely on a herculean effort by others.

Ok, lost from our top 8 forwards in goals last season are DeBrincat 27g, Brassard 13g and Watson 9g.
Inserted are Norris @33g per 82 games played for his career, Kubalik averages 19g per 82, and Tarasenko had 18g in 69 in a down year last year.
Can also add Chychrun for the year, totaling at least 10 more goals than replaced Holden and his 2g last year.
If healthy, that's 31 more goals than last year from replacements.
Just keeping goals against equal to last year (with a better goalie) and not factoring improvement from young players with only Giroux fighting age, how many more points are 31 goals worth, to a team that missed the playoffs by 6 points?
Even the 4th line can't possibly score as little as in 2022-23.
Health, and expected production for most should see a huge increase in points.
We were an aggregate -10 in gf/ga last year. Add 31, we're at +21. Every team at +17 or better made the playoffs.
It's time, my friends. We are back in relevance, ready to roll.

Tkachuk is not known for his two way defensive game and based on last season, neither is Batherson.
Many players like DJ exactly for this. He lets them cheat. And there is no accountability. How many times Batherson and Tkachuk were just admiring the other team plays? This should not be the culture going forward.
Also DJ would not establish breakouts with criss-cross passes through the neutral zone. Every breakout is along the boards. He does not trust players or he is a bad coach to establish breakouts, elite teams always use. Even NY Islanders. We do not need a coach like this. We will not win a lot of games with breakouts along the boards. It is a bush league.

Batherson was all over those highlights.
He is poised to bounce back, big-time as well.
I want to see a video of the physical plays Jimmy made. He is going to be dominant in all areas.
I don't know what cut-off date or how long back we need to go but I am just looking forward to the Senators being in a playoff position sometime during the season, past the 1st 10 games or whatever.
I want to enjoy big 4 point games to create distance between ourselves and others, not just hope to catch up like last year.

Watching the exit interviews from 3 months ago. Such a great group of guys.
The one guy I don’t get good vibes from is dbc. Good luck to him. But next year with the tank, korpi and kubalik additions and Norris and chychrun in the lineup it has potential to be one of the best senators lineups since I’ve been a fan.
Credit to PD and the rest of the staff. Even though the leash is kinda short with next year being a playoffs or bust.
Pretty pumped.
Oh and batherson needs to visit chychruns barber. And his gym.

Electricity is really just organized lightning.
The more i think about it the more I like the idea of putting stutzle between giroux and tarasenko.
We know that the other three can play together, and giving Norris a familiar line might help ease him back into the lineup. I think stutzle can work Magic with two seasoned vets on his wings.
If pinto and kubalic can find chemistry, whoever else fits on that line gives the sens a dangerous third line. Hopefully spare parts can make a decent energy line to round it all out.
