Doughty didn't exclude himself. He was blunt, honest, and raw as he usually is. He is trying to put the team first and get everyone on the same page. It's not all on the players and it isn't a sole call-out of Fiala, no one player or thing is sinking this team, it is a large collection of problems and failures and reasons/causes of it are trickling down from the top of the organization down.

He wasn't wrong at all about the 1st. Guys stopped playing defense and went for easy points and next thing you know it's a 3-3 game.

Someone actually asked Todd about his job security.

Problem With Drew going Chevy Chase in the interview is the media is gonna eat this up and twist it and create more of a distraction!

This has been festering. Doughty wouldn’t have said this if it was a one-off. He (and likely others) has been thinking this for a while.
He said several have stood-up during this stretch already and addressed the room, and nothing has changed

As much as I'm not a fan of Todd, Blake bringing in Fiala and Dubois is at the very center of our issues. These are two guys under 25 (at the time of the trades) on their third teams with a history of not meshing with teammates, not giving 100% effort, and having questionable work ethic on the defensive side of the ice. Fiala is maybe a guy you add as the final piece to a contender with a strong core, but we got him at the wrong time. And Dubois should be no where near a locker room looking to win hard hockey games.

I like Drew's comments, but I'm shocked to hear any player say it.

If these clowns do have the authority to make a coaching change I'm pretty sure it'll happen tomorrow. And we will hear the spin from Pravda and the rest of the state run media that this amazing roster was just ruined by TM.

But I am still very skeptical that someone who hasn't won dick in almost 7 years as a GM is going to be allowed a 4th coach.

These problems are 90% management and 10% coaching, anybody who thinks TM getting fired is going to fix this terrible roster is going to be greatly disappointed by whatever Chevy era King they bring in to replace him.
Thinking the same thing. Team is not going to be fixed even if there is a coaching change. Said that earlier. This team is just easy as hell to play against. Get rid of Bluc should be the first thing to happen. Okay and Todd. He's sucks.

Todd is a decent coach. The level of vitriol towards him around here is excessive.

He has his shortcomings. Every coach does.

You're not gonna get someone in here who can make Kopitar not be 36, make PLD care, or make Fiala not the dumbest player in the NHL.

You might get the coaching change "boost" but it won't be anything sustainable.

Nobody is scared too many guys locked up to guaranteed contracts and or not trying to win the cup. They are trying to get noticed wearing their fancy suits, their cars, their charities, their portfolios.

Everything but winning in the Cup!
Distraction from what? They already suck.
trade buzz and Drew calling out x player… just watch

The thing that I miss about Dean was that he really did his homework to get the best characters that would mesh with the rest of the team

They should have kept rebuilding, their not ready to compete for a cup yet. This team has to many weakness's they could have fixed through the draft.

Well in fairness to Blake, if you go back and read the messages posted here when the rebuild ended, the vast majority of people were on board with it ending. I'll never understand why, but not many were for going the traditional rebuild route.

Its been obvious for f***ing weeks, first thing is first Todd needs to f***ing go already. Its beyond obvious. He's getting way too much leeway for this trash, plus he's the highest paid coach in the league, which is f***ing absurd.

Ok, and you fire Todd tomorrow, guess what?

Still no championship caliber 1C, 1D and 1G. So why does the person who can't build a competent roster get to make another coaching hire?

Just fire everybody, bring in a steward GM and coach to oversee the rest of the season and bring in the best people this summer. We can't allow the worst GM in franchise history to do something at the deadline that may do severe damage to the longterm prospects of the franchise.
