Colangelo set up Gawdin for a great chance but it blew up off his stick. Then Smith takes a cross-checking penalty.

Smith doesn’t skate well but he’s so long that he covers a lot of space in the d zone.

In the 2nd period, Colangelo skating around with the puck with poise and patience. A delayed penalty call and people are moving around. puck moves to one side of the ice, then Colangelo goes cutting through the middle of the ice, towards the net. the puck is passed to Colangelo and the goalie makes a good stop on him.

Commentators are impressed with Colangelo in only his second game looking like a vet on the ice in that long sequence.

I can see why the Gulls re-signed Howe. He likes to entertain. He just took down 6’9” Curtis Douglas with a left hook and got the crowd going.

Colangelo absolutely deserves a contract. He’s a legitimately good offensive player and is already one of the best wingers on the Gulls.

He’s poised, strong on his skates, willing to shoot, and he’s even showed good vision. I wouldn’t call him fast, but I also wouldn’t say he’s a bad skater at all.
