Trevor Carrick gets a PP goal from Perreault and Tracey with just over 6 minutes left that proves to be the difference. Gulls win 2-1 and are 3-for-3 against Rockford this year with a chance to close the season sweep Friday night

I'm glad McIlvane has turned things around in San Diego when it looked dire with that 13-game losing streak. Since then, we're 6-2-1. Lots of players stepping up and lots of new players stepping up in scoring.

Although the Gulls did win 2-1 tonight against the Icehogs, they annihilated them recently with 7-0 win on Dec 8 and a 5-1 win on Dec 9. Missing De Leo for this game does affect our offensive output.

6-2-2 in the last 10. I guess the question is are the Gulls legitimately improving over the course of the year or is this just a byproduct of a weak Central Division schedule and the Pacific is that much better that they’re chewing the Gulls up and exposing them for what they truly are?

That coincides pretty perfectly with DeLeo coming back. There's been a cascade of good things happening since then, including Perreault, Tracey, and Gaucher all starting to play with confidence (not to mention some veterans finding their place). They were dominant last night but couldn't put any pucks past Commesso. Rockford's not great but they'd beat anyone playing like that.

They've been getting great goaltending all year, that and Regenda were the only things that kept them in games early on, so the improvement in play would naturally result in a pretty stark turnaround in their record. And they still haven't had a fully healthy roster this year.

Speaking of De Leo's return from injury and health, De Leo didn't play last night either. Still, the you reported the Gulls dominated the game with the exception of the RFD goalie. That's great improvement when compared to pre-De Leo games.

Again, thanks for reporting on the Gulls. You gave last night's loss a positive perspective. The Defend the Nest guy sometimes takes time to put up his recap and sometimes skips a game or two between long stretches.

Yeah he was out sick. Without him the line is more of a rushing line. Agozzino can't cycle really like DeLeo can, strangely enough for such a small guy. The Gulls D (Carrick and Zellweger, on different pairs) lead a lot of their rushes anyway so that doesn't really change with the forward makeup.

The Gulls are getting shelled tonight. Score's only 3-1 thanks to Stalock but after a decent start where Tracey answered to make it 1-1 with a snipe from beyond the circle Tucson has totally taken over. Some nice moments for Helleson and Zellweger, and the Gaucher line looks decent, but overall there's not much to enjoy here.

Agozzino with another late goal to make it 4-3 after Tucson had scored an empty netter.

Edit - Caulfield got it. He's been good for a while now. edit 2 - They gave it back to Agozzino. Point stands!

Anyway they lost. Pretty cool almost-comeback after being caved in for a couple hours. Good games (relatively) for Caulfield, Hinds, and Tracey. Perreault had a couple breakaways but couldn't convert.
