My concern with moving DeBrusk is we have nobody under 30 that has the talent to play as a top 6 LW scorer. I think if he's moved for a center who can play here for the next 5+ years and they move Zacha to the LW, that offsets some of that.

However, they'll need to hit on Lysell and another winger from the farm soon with Marchand going into his +35 years.

Perfect time to lose to Leafs

Been a long couple seasons of stress I think we all could use a break and nice summer
I actually think the Leafs are the best possible matchup for Boston in the first round....and I still think we beat them.

The party ends after that, however.

Debrusk is likely leaving one way or another. Whether is be by walking as a free agent or trade. Can’t get too hung up on it now.

The issue is no cap space so we can’t retain on Forby( no market for a third pair slow / non physical / dinged up player who is on last year of contract) or Griz ( small/ non physical third pair/ maybe a PP2 QB on the right team but is a non player once playoffs start) and Jake ( low end second line plater who is cold more then he is hot but HEY he plays 200 feet). Our big 3 are way over valued locally. Hot garbage is hot garbage.

4 total. 2 at home. Regardless we get some playoff hockey. Sure they will squeak out a game or two.

I don't see them getting swept either, and maybe can win a round. And once in, you never know what can happen- injuries to other teams, favorable matchups, etc etc. I think they are good rolling with the roster as is. I know we all spot some holes and needs, but they are still a good team that could do some playoff damage.

I agree. Nothing wrong with taking a final year of service on a player and losing him to UFA. It's not different than paying for a rental at the deadline.

While Guentzel is obviously a superior player to DeBrusk in general, DeBrusk is fully capable of being equal or better in a single post-season if he is on his game. Guentzel had all of 6 points over three post-seasons from 2019-2021. DeBrusk is, at this exact moment, probably a better player than Lindholm as well. He also adds an ingredient of speed that we can use in the forward group. Finally, DeBrusk is in his once-in-a-lifetime contract year and will be highly motivated.

If there were a one-for-one swap for Guentzel/Lindholm for DeBrusk, I would probably take it. But there isn't. The cost for Guentzel would probably require Lohrei or Poitras and the additional cost for Lindholm would be a 2nd or maybe Lysell. I think standing pat and doing nothing makes a lot of sense under those circumstances.

I think Vancouver is going to go heavy on Toffoli (according to Elliotte Friedman on Sportsnet) ....have to wait

At a minimum I think they need to bring in an LD like Middleton to shore up the D. We could definitely use top 6 forward help. Best hope in the playoffs is the goalie(s) stands on his head, injuries to key opponent's players (not that I'm rooting for that), and keep the games low scoring 1-0, 2-1, 3-2.

Toronto added a couple elite crease clearers for Round 2 for Tkachuk & Bennett should they get there

If the Bruins are healthy and do nothing they beat the Leafs

However if they trade their UFA guys for picks Marc McLaughlin and Parker Witherspoon with all due respect dressing aren’t beating Toronto

I agree with that. I'm thinking we stand pat over the next 48hrs and maybe add a #6-7 Dman at most.

REALLY hoping Detroit holds off Tampa for that #7 spot, so we get a FLA-TBL first round matchup.

I agree with bringing in someone like that, but it requires salary out which means someone has to want the guys Don is willing to part with at the value he has set. He might surprise us yet-there is still a few hours to go, but I will not be surprised if nothing happens.

Yup. Right now they are favorites for the PWHL Cup, I believe that is a no hitting league. Grizz and the crew will dominate in the playoffs.
This team is going nowhere in the playoffs. Keep working on the rebuild. Do not give up assets. Sell the UFA's if you can, they aren't worth much if anything.

If Guentzel isn't being moved to Vancouver, the Lindholm ship has sailed until at least the offseason.
