Hmm- let's see

a 19 year old gets to play for his country in what is the top Junior tournament in the world

and in so doing misses 6-7 games for a team whose record is one of the best in the NHL

a true development experience not to mention a highlight personal experience that those who have experienced it say was phenomenal and life changing

and some people are complaining - must be the low barometric pressure causing people to be grumpy

enjoy the ride Marty and bring back a medal!!

Meanwhile the fastest growing sport in the world is MMA. These people are f***ing fools.

I mean UFC revenue is like 1/6th of the NHLs. And the NHL's is almost 50% lower than the India Premier League (that's cricket). Just seems like pointing at the growth of a relatively niche sport with the revenues of Eastman Kodak or Red Robin doesn't mean much.

Ouch.

And what if he stinks it up? then what?

If he stinks it up, who cares?

Ouch.

Sounds about right.

Much to learn still.

I like KDP a lot gotta disagree with his center article

It’s a very good group overall they’ve added on the fly from Coyle to Zacha to Poitras to Beecher to Geekie

I give it a B+ in reality - fantasy hockey not to great but reality has a place in todays world

They need one addition / one guy and it’s super power time

Ouch.

Love it

This is how my old man talked to me and my brother

No yelling no screaming - no ripping your confidence out

Beautiful

A time lost when no kids wore helmets and you could say Merry Christmas without wondering if you are offensive

I know I've had my opinions on Ryan Mougenel and others have as well but I have no issue on how he delivered that message to Lysell. Too many kids nowadays can't take constructive criticism. They should have both their ears open to learn exactly what they need to do to make it to the big leagues.

I think it also came at a perfect time. You have less than 3 months until the TDL and I don't want to say he has that much time to figure it out but the comments seem easily correctable...use your line mates, attack as a group, don't take on 4 defenders alone...

Your move now kid

I'm not saying I would do this as my main focus is on Lindholm and Hanifin but Timo Meier just hasn't fit in New Jersey at all. He has a NMC kick in next year too. Would anyone do

Ullmark & Debrusk (9 mil total) for Meier (8.8 aav) ?

If there is ever a time to buy low on a young power forward...

He’s not exactly lighting it up in the NHL, so who cares?
Welllll I keep hearing this is great because he can get his confidence back????

So what's the point of him going again? Im confused.

If he stinks they send him back to Jrs when this Xmas tournament is over

I haven't watched Jersey really this season, but Sharks fans have said in the past that Timo's very slow off the blocks. And the dude is an awesome player that's been getting pistol whipped by PDO this season.

I'd hate to lose Ullmark - doubly so to another team in the east. If you could somehow make them swap Grzelcyk for Bahl, you'd have to seriously consider it.

Ouch.

The lack of progression is not good. I have wondered why the kid went from about the projected eighth pick all the way to the 21st. Fwiw have never had a good feeling about him, and he does not seem to be progressing.

They do a fifth to a quarter of the NHL's revenue on around 3% of the live events, the business model is different but they are the most successful sport at attracting a younger audience. If bare knuckle fighting can do that while the NHL shies away from fighting, passion, and emotion in general it begs the question, is growth the goal, or is it acceptance from polite society?

I don't think acceptance from polite society is a factor, unless you mean appealing to "the casual fan" by ridding the sport of everything that makes it great save speed, skill and goals, goals, goals! That's what they're selling.

One assumes they have a model they believe will produce greater income through a larger percentage of the entertainment dollar. Which, of course, is all they care about.

Exclusive rights to college football -- or four hours of commercials on a Saturday afternoon, pro football for the few, ESPN+, etcetera. It's all garbage.

There is little that will draw in a casual viewer more than a punch to a face. Their aversion to it is bizarre.

Ouch.

That has been my knock on Lysell right along. Great individual talent and skill. He just doesn’t know how or care to play within a team’s system. We all know that the Bruins are a well system structured team. He needs to realize this if he wants to move up to the NHL he has to fit that system or he won’t cut it.

That message has been sent loud and clear.

We'll see if Lysell listens to it.

If not, he should be packaged and sent hence.
