The Wilson train left the station a while back, as much as I loved him in his prime, he’s nowhere near what he was - and will only get worse
I’m kinda liking that other then Poitras, Bruins can roll out 4 big centers 6’2 or taller in Zacha, Coyle, Geekie, and Beecher

Thank you Donny and Merry Holidays

Wilson in his prime (minus the occasional moronic penalties) would have been something. I agree that ship has sailed and, as someone else already noted, he is due for a pay raise next year on a long term albatross contract. Not a good pickup for us.

Heinen Zacha Pastrnak
Marchand Geekie DeBrusk
JVR Coyle Frederic

But then there is no home for Poitras

Zacha Geekie Pastrnak
Marchand Coyle Frederic
JVR Poitras DeBrusk

But then there is no home for Heinen, and it sure feels like he has earned it.

I dunno what they should do. But it sure does seem like Geekie, all small sample sizes granted, looks a hell of a lot better playing with the skill guys than in the bottom six.

Geekie has been a fabulous surprise. Heinen and JVR contracts proving to be highway robbery.

Center scoring paces:

Coyle 29G 32A 61P
Zacha 25G 35A 60P
Poitras 16G 22A 38P
Geekie 15G 22A 37P
Beecher 12G 3A 15P
If you could have bet $2 in Vegas in October that Coyle would score 29 goals - you could retire on the winnings.

Wilson is ripped and trim. He should age well.
Many here said not to trade for an available Kreider a few years ago for the same reasons.

Kreider is also a lot less physical than Wilson. Wilson may age well but theres many more examples of bodies failing those types of players at his age than not.

He also already tore his ACL last year.

I want to see more of Geekie at center at well, but here's what I'd like to see them try when everyone is healthy

Zacha -- Geekie -- Pasta

Marchand -- Poitras -- DeBrusk

JVR -- Coyle -- Freddy

Heinen -- Beecher -- Steen

IMO Steen has been very good in his role and while he's small, he's got the Accari in him where he can lay some really good body contact because he's so damn thick. I think adding Heinen to that line will help it get going a bit more than Lauko, who I've been disappointed with so far this year.

I was actually taking a look at the stats this morning and while plus/minus tends not have as many supporters as it use to, I do think there's a forming correlation here with Bergeron gone and the plummeting plus/minus of the some members of the team. Offensively though, the replacement by committee is doing fine when looking at pace.

I agree that Lauko has been disappointing. He has been fine I guess but I was hoping he would be a strength on that line and not just fine. Steen has been better.

If your number 6 dman can shoulder heavy PK minutes and be very effective in doing so, it takes a lot of pressure off other D who are now having to pull those extra minutes. It’s a long season and we are not deep on D.

Forbert is very low on items that could be improved on, in my book.

Derek Forbort is a valuable defenseman for the Bruins who does a lot of dirty work without complaint. He's perfect in his role.

People should get off his back.

It's unfortunate that we never really got to see Lauko, Beecher and Milan. That was a promising fourth line that could have been a significant pillar for the Bruins. It's too bad.

He's not though. Tough kid and hits a lot, two things we could use. But the rest of his game is seriously lacking, especially the mental decision making. I see the 4 or 5 Nashville fans on these boards get on his case a lot for doing dumb things, which was kind of what he was doing here as a 23 year old. On a good blueline, he should be riding the bench more than playing.
I’ve been following him since he went to Seattle and I think this is ridiculous. He’s clearly taken a step this year. Not saying he’s a top 4 guy but he’s turned into a solid bottom pair defensemen. Bonus that he’s signed to a fair contract for the next couple of years. He’d be great in Forborts role and he could absolutely be an every day player on the bottom pair of a contender

Yes, I remember your Lauzon fandom. I dont think he's solid at all but he is a tough 3rd pairing guy. On a good blue line, he's riding the pine and not a bad option coming off the bench when there's an injury or need to rotate your third pair around for rest.
