But overall solid proof of a league plan today.

If, by a plan, you mean "throwing non-descript teams on the ice and calling it a league," then yes, they have a solid plan.

If the league disappears, then the elite players have no place to play and professional women's hockey loses a lot of momentum. But at the same time, by throwing shit together like this, they only magnify the growing pains. There's no good answer, other than getting real investment, both financially from investors and interest-wise from the NHL, USAH and HC, into the league and not doing everything on a shoestring budget. Until they do, this league will continue to be run like the SPHL with a better social media presence.

Yeah they better hit the ground running after this initial opening plan for successful league operations.

Full Regular Season schedule has been released.

So Montréal will host 4 games in Laval's Place Bell and New York will be actually in the Big Apple for 4 games at the UBS Arena.

Still a number of games have to found a home.

WC break from 26th March till 17th April before the last stretch.

Oooooh, finall!

Absurd that they don't have venues for scheduled games. Good luck with that!

What a clown show.

Also, UBS Arena is not in New York City. It's in Elmont, Nassau County. Granted, the city line is basically across the highway...

Compared to Bridgeport, we may as well say it is.

PWHL Toronto Sells Out Season Ticket Memberships
Story by Ian Kennedy • 2d (Dec. 7, 2023)

PWHL Toronto, who will play at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, announced Wednesday they've sold out all available season ticket memberships. ...

According to the PWHL, a limited number of half season ticket memberships will be available starting Tuesday, December 12, followed by a limited supply of single game tickets available starting Thursday, December 14.

Toronto fans who did not get season tickets can sign up to receive updated ticket information by subscribing to the PWHL e-newsletter. Toronto fans can visit Toronto Tickets for more ticket information.

Rather depressing how you want to get on the ground floor of this league, but all the women are wearing generic league jerseys, and then you recall the terrible names for the teams like Boston Wicked they came up with and go "Yeah, I'm not excited for the logos" for when they finally come up with merch.

FAR more depression points available from the PWHL beyond their team branding details. For a league who challenged convention by insisting on standing up on-ice products in just 5 months, they still have managed to make the process seem like a bag skate through quicksand. :m-sad:

Final rosters announced

Curious to me...
I'm not sure how the PWHL's draft rights work for the inaugural draft, as it is not an Entry Draft, but:
  • Boston's roster includes Sidney Morin (drafted by MIN)
  • Minnesota's roster includes Mellissa Channell (drafted by TOR)
  • Toronto's roster includes Maude Poulin-Labelle (drafted by MTL)
All 3 made it to their respective drafting teams' final cuts.
I wonder if trades were required, or if these players were released outright, despite their draft status, when they were released from camp (and despite their drafting team feeling they weren't roster quality, they immediately slotted into another team's final roster)
