i blame scouts and the development team and hextall. and lots of those people are no longer here either.

You act like players not developing into NHLers after being highly projected is soley a Flyers problem and its not exclusive to us. It is a coin flip. theres probably 10+ players in EVERY first round that dont develop into NHLers, the years between 2016 and 2018 just stand out for us because we had alot of failed coin flips.

None of those players went elsewhere and produced, we've seen numerous players blossom with new teams around the league.
Obviously, they were grossly overrated.

no one gives a shit about what was said 7 years ago about prospects idk if you expect that to be a mic drop moment or who youre even talking about but people get excited about prospects all the time thats a fan thing its called optimism, some of us can be disappointed and not be bitter about it for years

What I take away from the prospect pool and rankings is the power of adding elite talent to the top. Pushing Cutter to 2 makes a world of difference to his appeal. Move him to 4 after this draft and we are in business!

Flyers were ranked 14th by Wheeler in January, they're sure to be top 10, maybe top 5 this summer.

Nashville sure gave up quickly, sure sounds like a guy who convinced them he can't be coached up. If they thought they could turn him around, they could carry him for a year on the third pair.

"Some of his puck skills, I think some areas like his positioning with his hands and his shooting. Things like passing and receiving. Little tweaks that we think can be a little bit better."
He also mentioned that Myers has been working with a skating coach.

"The other part is we are doing some things with his skating. He's a really big, strong, fast skater... just some things like balance and center of gravity. We have a skating coach that's come in and worked with Philippe on those situations."

But... isn't it a bad sign when the defenseman you traded for (who has already played 115 games in the NHL) needs to work on virtually every element of playing hockey, including skating, balance, passing, puck skills, and shooting?


Maybe the big question is, what DID the Flyers develop on a guy good enough to be a top pairing Dman for Team Canada before the Flyers got their grubby hands on him?
