End of two periods, Everblades 2 - Thunder 1. The chippy play from late in the 1st boiled over into the middle session, with the referees intent on sending pairs off the ice for most of the 2nd. But each team did manage to score once on the PP to sustain the one-goal gap entering the 2nd intermission. ETA: For the record, the aforementioned 2nd period goals were scored by Florida's Bobo Carpenter & Adirondack's Filip Engaras.

The REAL excitement of Period 2 was the puck-to-the-side-of-the-head incident involving an unfortunate ADK fan sitting in the pricey seats, after a Florida player's clearing attempt went awry (one of the many penalty calls ... but NOT for "intent to injure"). 🤕 😳

How To Watch Florida Everblades, Kansas City Mavericks In Kelly Cup Finals

May 29, 2024
FloHockey Staff

The stage is set for what should be an absolutely thrilling championship series in the ECHL. The regular-season champion Kansas City Mavericks will take on the two-time defending Kelly Cup champion Florida Everblades in the 2024 Kelly Cup Finals. ...

It all begins Friday in Independence, Missouri at Cable Dahmer Arena, as the puck drops on what will – one way or another – be a historic championship matchup. The Everblades will look to become the first team to win the Kelly Cup in three consecutive years. Should they win, Florida would also be celebrating their fourth overall ECHL title, more than any team in league history.

The Mavericks are hoping to complete one of the great seasons in ECHL history after winning the regular-season title with a 54-12-6 record and going 12-3 so far in the playoffs. They are seeking their first Kelly Cup and the first hockey title for Kansas City in any league since 1992.

The excitement for this one could not be any higher.

Stay tuned to FloHockey for more coverage of the 2024 ECHL Kelly Cup Finals including team previews and predictions from ECHL insider Justin A. Cohn. ...

Can anyone comment on how Ho Sang is looking these days?
I watched several Everblades playoff games this year, and Josh Ho-Sang impressed me with his skating speed & puck handling. I believe he was on Florida's #1 line (he certainly got a LOT of ice time), so that would be a reflection of his skills & value to his team's success. Considering his previous pro hockey experience, it shouldn't be surprising that his play would be noticeable & superior at the ECHL level. That's what I've got as a hockey fan, based on a small sampling of Ho-Sang's recent performance.

Everblades starting a 4-minute PP, after the Mavs are issued a double minor wth 9 minutes left in the opening period.

ETA: And nothing to show for the visitors' opportunity.

End of one period in Independence, MO, Florida leads 3-1. Everblades using the kind of transition speed that is the Mavericks' calling card, keeping KC on the heels of their skates. Bit of a group dance at center ice after the horn, playoff hockey in effect.

Florida challenges a no-goal call on a quick shot by Bobo Carpenter. Official review overturns the call on the ice, 4-1 Everblades with about 11 minutes left in the 2nd.

ETA: And Riese Zmolek makes it 5-1 less than a minute later. o_O
