2024 Calder Cup Playoffs North Division Semi-Finals – Game 3 of 5 (Series tied 1-1)
The Set-Up:
After splitting the first two games of the American Hockey League’s North Division Semi-Finals on home ice, the Belleville Senators move into not uncharted, but unfamiliar waters, as they conclude the best-of-five series with the Monsters in Cleveland this week. Belleville will look to regain the advantage in the series tonight, after winning game one and losing an overtime thriller in Game Two, like the start of the series in round one against Toronto. And, after receiving some deafening and staunch support at home, the B-Sens will do their best to quiet a crowd at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse that could grow to close to 19,000, as they try to push their Monsters in front for the first time in the series.

Cleveland’s win at CAA Arena last Friday ties this best-of-five series at a game apiece. The loss drops Belleville’s overall record against Cleveland this season to 2-4-0-0. The B-Sens lifetime record against the Monsters is 12-14-0-2 and 5-9-0-0 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Roster Notes:
There’s been no word on any lineup news for the Senators this morning. Belleville played without forward Zack Ostapchuk on Friday night after he was injured in Game One and Head Coach Dave Bell had said before Game Two that the hope was Ostapchuk wouldn’t be out long—even with that said, no word if the rookie forward will return to the lineup tonight. Who to Watch:
Rookie standout Stephen Halliday has jumped into the B-Sens playoff point-scoring lead, after putting up a goal and two assists in Game Two last week. The former Ohio State Buckeye also scored his first pro goal, tying the game last Friday night. He brings a three-game point streak (one goal, five assists) into tonight, as do Egor Sokolov (one goal, two assists), and Josh Currie (one goal, two assists). Cole Reinhardt also scored his first goal of the postseason last game.
Monsters forward Josh Dunne has points in back-to-back games, after notching a goal in Game One and scoring again in Game Two. Cole Clayton scored the game-winner for the Monsters in overtime of Game Two, while Tyler Angle had a goal, an assist, and four shots on goal. Jake Gaudet also picked up a goal and a helper, while franchise scoring leader Trey Fix-Wolansky has been quiet so far, putting up just one assist over the first two games of the series.
