Trading all of them today?
Hey, we literally saw it for three games last season. I can't say that I'm surprised that he made it back. I'm just surprised that they're doing it now. I figured Sabourin would be a post-deadline call up.I honestly never thought I'd see the day Scott Sabourin made the Sharks roster.
War probably watched our entire 4th line try to kickstart the offense by fighting only to watch all of them get their asses kicked.
It definitely feels weird, but I'm assuming they need bodies and it's a combination of two things: 1) They don't feel like any of the young Barracuda are ready or deserving of a callup right now, and 2) they wouldn't want to bring kids into this present environment with the losing and bad vibes.Hey, we literally saw it for three games last season. I forgot he played a grand total of 27 minutes last year lol. It seems like War is trying to create a rougher, more greasy line-up, which is what I've been saying for a while now. Team has no understanding of what it means to win ugly.Hey, we literally saw it for three games last season. I can't say that I'm surprised that he made it back. These moves read more to me like waving the white flag than learning how to win ugly. They don't add any offense or defense. They're just more of the same.I forgot he played a grand total of 27 minutes last year lol. True that a lot of guys haven't earned call ups, but I don't see any clear direction from the organization with these moves. It doesn't make the NHL team more competitive or allow any players with potential to show their ability or at the least accrue any trade value. It also takes away 2 forwards from the Barracuda and they only dressed 11 up front in their last game.I'm not sure it's waving the white flag mostly because they're replacing 3 bottom 6 players with 3 other bottom 6 players. Like I guess they could give Bordeleau a try but Goose and Bystedt haven't really earned a call-up, so...
I think it's also likely there's a trade coming for like Kunin.

My sense is that they are just covering for injuries and illnesses. My in-depth analysis of this callup is as follows:
1. The Sharks wanted a large, mean man in the bottom 6.
2. Scott Sabourin is a large, mean man
Sabourin out for Graf is an upgrade on the Barracuda, Vanroboys was scratched last game and can come back in, we do have a hole at 3C that we will probably plug Robins into in the short term. I dunno, it's fine. I'd like another forward addition in the AHL now, something like the Kyle Rau signing last year.
I'm still of the opinion that Sabourin is being called up because Florida is up next, but who knows. I don't frankly understand the timing or logic of many of our callups. Sabourin's time with the Sharks from last year got brought up and I think people forget that he went on a surprise PPG+ tear for nine games in the AHL prior to that callup. None of that this season. He's had a pretty pedestrian year offensively and his biggest accomplishment IMO has been keeping his temper in check.
I don't know if it is waving the white flag, but it smells of desperation from Grier. He's trying to find something to spark the lineup. These moves read more to me like waving the white flag than learning how to win ugly. They don't add any offense or defense. They're just more of the same.

I don't know why every move lately is desperation or flailing to you. They're a rebuilding franchise with depth issues. It's not going to change in one or two seasons.I don't know if it is waving the white flag, but it smells of desperation from Grier. He's trying to find something to spark the lineup.
