Another possible trade target for Grier could be Kaedan Korczak. Vegas is going to need to clear some space and he is currently being scratched in the Cup Finals. 25 years old RHD, 6’4 and is signed until 2030 at 3.25M AAV with zero trade protection.

I’d love him but Vegas has like 3 dmen expiring this year. I think it’s more likely Korczak steps into their top 4 than they trade him

The vibe I'm getting is they want Lameroux to slot in somewhere and now with Weegar there longterm and Durzi still with two years left they're not sure they can extend him at his expected asking price. Now, what the price is is subjective and the prospect in addition to 34 I imagine would be along the lines of Musty.

I just don't think that Musty would do anything for us. He is good prospect, but our wings are already becoming very crowded. Of course this can change IF Marino wouldn't sign extension with us, but I think that package of 34 + Musty would get beaten by other teams (maybe not value wise, but positional need wise), especially if he comes with an extension.

So we're doing the Sharks off-season on Reddit and this is what we've done so far:

2OA for 4OA + Ethan Del Mastro and pick 34

Pick 34 + prospect to Utah for John Marino

20th OA + Bystedt for Vince Dunn.

Id give the 20th for Marino assuming he'd resign. He was arguably utahs best defenseman by my eye last year. He'd be our best D by far.

Pick 34 + prospect to Utah for John Marino

20th OA + Bystedt for Vince Dunn.

I know Fox has a young family and is from/has family in the the NY area - those things are hugely important for a human being - but saying he has no interest in waiving to come here is such a self-inflicted shot at his competitiveness.

A cynical way of reading this is that he is perfectly content making tons of money and having his ass covered by Shesterkin and has no interest in pushing himself to win.

The top deal isn't worth doing (Del Mastro is junk) and Utah and Seattle wouldn't do those deals.

Del Mastro is fine as a 3rd pairing physical stalwart if he continues to grow. Pick 34 is key for the trade (along with Bystedt is what happened) which is basically the market rate for Marino (2 seconds). Dunn for 20th and probably Musty now is decent value for both.
