That’s the entire reason they did it imo, I don’t think it makes them a better playoff team this year though. Losing out on that defense is tough when it’s the playoffs and everything is max effort

Tough to win games 130-120 in the playoffs and now their perimeter defense that already leaked 3’s just got weaker. Teams are forced to attack them on the perimeter due to Giannis and Lopez and they just traded away the guy who would at least be able to limit that game plan. They’ll be the team to beat in the East in the regular season but playoffs are a different animal.
I don’t think their offense improved more than their defense declined, I’ll put it that way. And now they’re gambling on an oft-injured 33 YO.

Don't think there's any way they can trade for Holiday without sending out Rob Williams, White or Horford with Brogdon

Holiday-White-Brown-Tatum-Porzingis closing lineup is championship caliber imo. Horford minutes can be managed in a bench role.
Holiday is a good player but his playoff efficiency is on the level of Marcus Smart despite being the 2nd or 3rd option on the Bucks. If they are willing to give up 2 rotation players, plus picks for a 33 year old guard then they should have been aggressive in getting the guy the Bucks just traded Holiday to get.

They'd most likely need a 3rd team, ideally with an expiring contract to move.
Celtics move Brogdon and picks, receive Holiday. Blazers receive picks, expiring contract player from team 3.
Team 3 receives Brogdon.

The Bucks just jumped ahead of the Celtics in the protection to win the 23-24 NBA Championship on paper. They certainly jumped ahead of the Celtics in a one on one projection. They also are projected to win the East on paper.

Rob Williams regressed last year and is unreliable in general. Maybe it's risky but I would move him for Holiday.

They traded their best perimeter defender, and another good depth piece who can defend in Grayson Allen despite what his reputation might be.
Teams are going to feat from range, or down low of they for some reason try to switch Giannis onto the perimeter
