thought crossed my mind too.
Deslauriers took it easy on Lauzon there. He knew he was at the end of his shift when he jumped over the boards.Congrats for Lauzon for holding on for dear life
With his concussion history not a bright move
My lasting image of him is costing the Bruins game 2 against Islanders in OT in 2020
Good kid but ever hit like I hoped
Also Steve Yzerman lucky he’s a legend in Detroit
If he was doing this in Boston he’s fired

Like Wally, it crossed my mind, and I would like to see him back too. I think the team would be close to ideal for him, save the goaltending. They could do a lot worse.
Jaques Martin is 71, and my understanding is that his position is temporary.
I would love to see Claude back in the NHL.
Congrats for Lauzon for holding on for dear life

I think you are being a little harsh on the Wings. They are mediocre but pretty speedy and deep. They also have a good PP. A team can do a lot with that formula in the regular season. (Just ask Sinden. ...)I think the pass/fail criteria for the Red Wings this season is very simple - make the playoffs. They've had enough time in the purely developmental phase, time to start delivering in starting to move from wannabes to genuine contenders.
At present they're still very much in the hunt for a spot, but their recent form isn't going to cut it and they could soon be digging themselves into a pretty deep hole that's going to be hard to get out of. Things are going to get heated and interesting in Detroit if the current losing pattern goes on for much longer.
Been waiting for years now for one of the supposed up-and-comers in the Atlantic - Sens, Sabres and Wings - to finally make the jump to becoming a legit team. Increasing seems like the wait is only going to continue.

The playoffs are a good simple first goal, but I do have a few questions about the Yzerplan: I think they lack top unit talent -other than Seider; have a decent but overrated group of prospects, and a couple of guys that might be difficult to move: Petry and Perron come to mind.
The Sabres have a great deal of talent, but need a better coach, and one more good all around d man. (They may also have to move a top player or two as something does seem rotten there.) The Sens need a good coach and better goaltenders.
I have bought low on all three teams as well. I didn't think the Sens would progress this year, but was high on the Wings and Sabres. Losing Lyon and Husso hurts. And signing Kane doesn't move the needle for a team that struggles on defense. Having said that, I still think they can be a playoff team.I think the pass/fail criteria for the Red Wings this season is very simple - make the playoffs. Husso is hurt and Perron is suspended. That explains their bad stretch to me.Not judging them, just saying I think the time has come where's it's reasonable to expect that they get over the hump and return to the playoffs. Seven years since they last qualified, 10 since they won a round. Long enough to start seeing some proper results. Obviously you're not going to go straight from making the dance to winning it all in the space of one year, but at least starting that journey I think is a realistic expectation at this point. The roster still has its holes and limitations, for sure, but it's good enough if the players perform to their talent level. Right now they're not doing that.

We shall see, indeed. But, I predict the Wings make the playoffs and may finish a point or two ahead of us if their goaltending gets healthy, which is likely.Partially, I would say. But every team has to battle through these things. Anyway as I said, there's time enough for them to turn things back the right way. If I were a fan I'd be a bit jittery but not panicking just yet. We'll see what happens.
Just my opinion but I like these takes better than everyone sucksI think you are being a little harsh on the Wings. They are mediocre but pretty speedy and deep. They also have a good PP. A team can do a lot with that formula in the regular season. (Just ask Sinden. ...)

Correction: Petry is a UFA, but given his ties to the area, I bet they plan to keep him at least another year.

Buffalo just appears to be cursed. I really thought they would build on last year's progress.
There goes my last pickem "x", I thought I had that one in the bag. That being said, I am loving the game!Wow.
The Sabres are just absolutely spanking the Leafs.
9-3 with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd.
Ouch! lol
