You don’t know what you’re talking about. Players have poor tournaments all the time. At least he’s creating opportunities for himself and others.

Turnovers and bad habits are the product of junior hockey and can be cleaned up.
He’s been terrible on almost every shift the past two games but I wouldn’t give up on him yet

I'm not saying what you are saying. This team has a 3 year window and he won't have impact in that next 3 years. We either win now or I think Mathews walks. So yes in a good trade much like the McCabe trade, Cowan could be a chip in a bigger trade. He won't make our top 6 anytime soon. I think the fans would understand if Tre had to use him to pry a guy in his prime now.

To me, it would have to be for a young stud already impacting the game in the NHLwith potential for more like Knies. No one is giving those guys up though.

Tre could put together a nice package if he is convinced to. Right now JT Miller is available.

At this rate I hope they trade him. Reading some of this stuff is getting wild. In a few years we can lament how we can't believe we traded him for X Y or Z. We love to do that.

Beautiful B.C.
Hindsight being what it is, Cowan probably shouldnt have left all those good players off the team.

That way he wouldn't have had to be on the top PP, PK and top line of the team while leading in scoring going into the quarter finals.

f***ing piss poor decision by him to leave top players behind, Cowan should have known better when he selected team Canada.

He also took a terrible penalty and let in a goal through the 5 hole with a minute left.

Just brutal.

Canada going out in the quarters is costing tsn millions probably

Well, atleast this might shine more of a light on how broken Hockey Canada is.

We need to go back to the old way of choosing the team. No more summer selection camp nonsense.

Bring the 40 best u-20 players regardless of age. And hold the camp in December. I understand that sucks for the CHL teams but it is what it is. The selection process isn’t working. We’ve struggled since going to this model.

I really think Cowan’s decision to not have the team practice the last 3 days when they were showing a lack of chemistry and struggling special teams was a terrible idea on his part.

Cowan had terrible tournament. No way to sugar coat it.
He wasn’t great but he was still one of the best players on the team sadly.

And really people drastically overrate what this tournament says about how prospects will perform in the NHL. May great NHL players played poorly there and many WJC legends have done little in the NHL

Marner levels of clutch. Far from Canada’s worst player, there were at least 10 guys who I have already forgotten, but he just didn’t deliver offense when he needed to. The drive to be a difference maker was obvious, but it also made him make poor decisions just about every time he had the puck by chasing glory instead of making the smart play.
