As opposed to when Dubas was dealing away Leafs first round picks to remove his poor Mzaek signing or Foligno dead line trade.
Dubas traded away every Leafs 1st round pick in all 6 of his years..
2018 - Trade back from 25th to 29th to draft Rasmus Sandin.
2019 - To LA for Jake Muzzin.
2020 - To Carolina to dump Marleau contract.
2021 - To Columbus for Nick Foligno.
2022 - To Chicago to dump Petr Mrazek.
2023 - To St. Louis for Ryan O'Reilly.
2024 -
2025 1st rounder already to Chicago for Jake McCabe. (Leafs don't even have next years 1st rounder)
If Dubas was still around there was no question that based on his track record he would have dealt away this pick also which was obtained by dealing Leafs former 1st round pick Rasmus Sandin for recaptured 1st.

Without the Sandin trade Treliving would have only been left with a 5th and 6th round pick in 2023.
So I agree credit where credit is due, it was a great move by Shanahan firing Dubas and replacing him with Treliving just in time to stop Dubas' scorched earth draft policy to continue as only 3 draft picks survived his reign of terror.
