EDIT: It's over.

Other sources reporting this as well, although Bobby Mac is as good as it gets.
-----

Väisänen (Finland) played earlier, no points or anything.

Garand (Canada) is getting lit up at the moment.

Cuylle (also on Canada) and Berard (US) are our other two.

EDIT: The US-Slovakia game is at 9:30. Most of the games, including this one, are on NHLN in the States.

The 2nd and 3rd goals were awful to let up. A terrible read of the developing play off the faceoff, not getting across quick at all. 3rd goal, he has to come up with a save there on the short side. Another bad job.

I think he is either lights out the rest of the way or he gives up at least 2 more goals. And that could get him pulled.

Cuylle has thrown his body a couple times but not much else happening with his game thus far

That lift pass across on the 2nd and the one timer... thats not really on him IMO

Too late to trade Laf for Owen straight up?

To put it into context. The year Laf led the tournament in scoring and won MVP he was the same age at Shane Wright, who is basically invisible.

If Laf was playing in this tournament in his D+1 year he’d probably set a scoring record.

The Rangers are just that dreadful at developing skaters.

I think it's that this Canadian offense is very dynamic and creative, and that is just not how Cuylle plays. It feels like he is a bit of a square peg in a round hole.

Very possible.

I mentioned yesterday that he’ll prove his worth in the games against Sweden and the US. Like Schneider, who really stepped it up in those games.

Hard to really blame Garand on the 1st and 3rd goals. The 3rd goal was basically a partial breakaway where the guy shot it top corner. Defense was brutal on both of those. Even the 2nd goal was a lucky bounce off the post , off his back, and into the net.

He should have had the 3rd goal. 2nd goal too. He was too slow realizing how the play was developing off the faceoff with a D to D pass for a one timer. Too slow getting over. Yes there is some luck for the Czechs in that it just snuck inside the post, but there is a good amount of blame to rest on Garand.
