Montoyo's gotta go, not gonna happen with them all going to Budz daughters Funeral tomrrow tho.
Guess if things don't change in the next series he'll be gone during All star break.

The problem is, you can't really wait. Can't afford to go into the break out of a playoff spot. Is there a Tulo or a Price being parachuted into the clubhouse at the deadline this year?

At this rate the 1B coach's daughter might not be the last funeral they go to this week.
 
I would be very surprised if Shatkins did not learn from last season. You cannot wait too long to make the deals that you need to. This team didnt make the post season last season because they waited too long for additions.

You cannot blame Montoyo or Walker for being given crap to work with. Get them 2 power arms in bullpen and one more quality starter and this team competes with anyone.

How can people sit here and blame Montoyo or Walker. If your given crap to work with you will deliver crap. The only thing I blame Montoyo and Walker for is that Guerrero's gloves cant keep a ball in the pocket. They really need to get up to speed on their stitching capabilities!!!!

It will look bad for them when the new manager comes in and the losing continues because they didn't put a complete roster together..

Charlie is a terrible manager but there are bigger problems with this team

It will not look bad on team. A change needs to happen and finally getting rid of Montoyo is the easiest start to that. The team has had two players only meetings already this year. That’s not a good sign. Also you clearly don’t have the stomach to manage if you operate on the fear of what if this doesn’t work. It’s what happens every-time a manager is fired. A new message is needed. It’s not the miracle cure to a bad rotation and bullpen and that will also be dealt with hopefully.

I don’t blame montoyo for the lack of useful pieces in the rotation and bullpen. But like my other post it’s a change that still needs to happen. Many here are aware of my dislike for montoyo and hearing about the 2nd closed door players meeting is telling of this team. They need a new voice. They also need better pitching. He or Walker can’t do that obviously. But this IMO is the starting point to a new direction for this team

I agree that he should be fired but he should have been fired last season or in the off season at the latest.. instead he was re-signed to a three year deal (on April fools day of all days). At this point it looks like Shatkins/Montoyo are attached at the hip.

Oh trust me. I don’t think he should have made it past the season before last. I think the catering to the young team with the coddle manager they brought in needed to end a while ago. I don’t know what they see in him. I’m sure he’s a lovey man but he’s not what this team needs. Every day that passes is another day he shouldn’t have been managing the team
 
What happened to Bichette’s speed?

25-1 last year to 5-6 this year and wasn’t even close on his last couple attempts.
