When Gurriel walked I was excited to see Chapman up with the bases loaded as his bat has been smoking hot. Has a 145 wRC+ in June, his 2nd highest month in the last 2 seasons.

Of course I’m disappointed to see Tapia. Getting a lefty in the lineup, especially at the 6th spot is only imperative if you have a better hitter than the ones in the 7-9th spots. Which it isn’t the case. Having your 2nd worst hitter hitting 6th is madness. If you insist on a lefty there, at least go with our best lefty hitter who has been on a hot streak too, Biggio.

And even worse the splits don’t support Tapia vs RHP;

Vs RHP: 76 wRC+
Vs LHP: 83 wRC+
