I don't like having to whinge about the umpires all the time, but holy hell are they especially bad in these Yankee series.

In other series there has has been a blown call here and there or a home plate ump having a bad game here and there but against the Yankees it's almost systematic, every single game, like the two teams are playing by different rules.

If that Tapia play was Judge, I'm pretty sure it would have been called in control and a catch.

I like how the MLB makes Baltimore change their stadium because of the shallow LF, but says nothing about the Yanks RF

"tradition"

Meanwhile if another team said "hey, can we build a new stadium with the now-illegal dimensions of a field we had that was built a century ago?" MLB would be all "lol, f*** no."

The Yankees are having a "historic" season with the exact same team that Yankee fans wanted to nuke last year..

Are they that stupid or...?

3rd or 4th? They have a lead over Tampa right now for 2nd. finishing 2nd is more likely than 3rd or 4th.

Tapia is in and he is hitting 6th. I have had it with this manager.
I would not be surprised if they finished 2nd 3rd or 4th.

3-8 vs the Yanks. Pain

It sucks. Sadly even if they split the games, the Jays would still be 9.5 games back. Heck they could be 11-0 against the Yankees and be 1 game back for the division.

The Yanks used their soft schedule to start the year to give that team confidence and momentum against even better teams. Their rotation can't be that good all season but the fact that they have a 12 game lead over second in the division is insane when you consider the Jays have the 3rd best record in the AL and are 12 game back of the division.

Sucks to see the Jays in a bit of a rut but it's their first series loss in awhile and these ups and downs happen throughout the season. The Yanks are basically flawless right now which is hard to keep up with.

I just hope this pace, which should be unsustainable crashes and burns in the second half.

That would be great but what type of value does Gurriel have? It's an easy decision to dump him for a reason.

I dunno. Apparently a lot of teams asked for him the last two years, though. He's cheap, I guess?

Baseball's a long season. Getting their asses kicked by the Yankees doesn't mean it's over.

That being said, their pitching is absolutely horrifying. Trying to win a series when the Yankees can send one of four of Cole, Tallion, Severino or Nasty Nestor with that buzzsaw of a bullpen behind it? No thanks.

I'm trying my hardest to like Kikuchi.

It's not working, but I'm trying.

His slider sucked in Seattle and it still sucks here. I don't get why he throws it so much.
