I'm a traditionalist, and I have always accepted the human element. But even I'm at the point robot umps are the way to go. Some of the strikes that are balls and vice versa are just far too commonplace.

I'm not so sure. I think with Gausman not getting the bottom of the strike zone calls its causing him to have to move his fastball up in the zone, and Texas is basically only swinging at that pitch because his splitter is only effective when hitters think it's a low-fastball.

His stuff looks good, but them getting away from their plan because the umpire is crushing them is an issue. Could have to do with Kirk's catching too, IIRC he's a really weak framer and we'd potentially be getting these pitches with Jano in there.
