And this is a problem how? We are not trying to win next year.

Again i don't know Dach enough but the state of our defense doesn't matter in the evaluation of this trade. If Dach become a big top 6 center doing 60 points this is a good trade.
Because D take longer to develop. We have no good D in the 22-25 year old range that can grow with our young core of forwards. Again I like Romanov for Dach in a vacuum but it leaves us looking for some good, young nhl ready d-men.

You guys are way too attached to Romanov. Guy couldn't even accidentally make and play in the offensive zone. 13 for Dach seems pricey however. 26+33 would have been way more palatable.

you take that back. Romanov is why I tuned in this year, MSL is why I stayed, and Caufield made me excited for the future.

Dach was the most used center for the Hawks and mostly played with Debrincat and Kane yet has shit stats. I hope he explodes but man I'm not confident at all.
He won't be #1 in Montreal.

If we keep Dvorak, he's #3. Hopefully he's able to gain some confidence not going up against top D/centers, which Kane immediately attracts

LOL no...this is a good start.

X - Suzuki - Caufield
Slafkovski - Dach - X

Still tanking next year

Remember everyone. Gorton went and got Zibanejad around at the same phase. I was kinda expecting something like this.
He did, but it was for Brassard. He also got a 2nd round pick.

HF is crashing thanks to those 2 trades.

Wright to Seattle is great for him.

Montreal must really like Guhle & Xhekaj to trade Romanov.

We still have picks #26 & #33.

We traded our own 3rd & 4th round picks. We still have 2 other picks in those rounds.
Seattle is crap. Wright would have been better off in Arizona.

Ghule was on path to overtake Romanov, but losing him still sucks. Love the addition of two young and talented forwards. Can't wait to see what other out of left field idea HuGo has for the night.

Not sure what to make of Dach. I didn't think Kent would gamble on a player still trying to show his worth and plagued by injuries. It's an interesting move. We will see how it pays off 2-3 years down the road.
