ELIGIBILITY: All players whose rights are held by the Buffalo Sabres and who are eligible to win the Calder Trophy for the 2022-23 season are eligible inclusion. That means a prospect is eligible if--

• He is under age 26 (as of September 15, 2022);
• He has played no more than 25 games in any single preceding season; and
• He has not played 6 or more games in each of any two or more preceding seasons.

It's good to see the top 5 is so clear cut and with so much consensus. After that, I suspect more variation. And trying to rank the players beyond that, including the guys who aren't even included in the poll yet, shows just how deep the pool is.

Yea we have five clear blue chip prospects, which is absurd.

The next tier in my opinion is Kulich and Ostlund…who may very well be blue chippers themselves next year!

Rosen's truncated season and less than stellar usage makes him a true sleeper when talking about that next tier.

I’m getting off topic…but we have a ton of interesting high-potential forwards outside of the top guys. Very exciting!

I've got Rosen and Johnson and Portillo and UPL in that next tier as well. That's 10 prospects who are either IN or fall just short of "blue chip" (alternatively: bluest of blue) tier.

That's absurd.
