Preds defeat Carolina despite being outshot 67-25. Saros with an incredible performance in nets for the Predators.
So we're running laps around the entire league and have only one all-star, who happens to be a goalie who will probably play one period.
TBQH it might be better that Marchand, Pasta, Lindholm, McAvoy, and Bergeron get the extra days of rest
Penguins lost again too
Three in a row, 3-5-2 in last ten
Real shame, that
No, he didn't play enough games.Did they burn a year of his ELC?
It's gross.THe NHL All-Star Game is about as relevant as game #2 of the exhibition season. It's not even real hockey, it's a bunch of staged gimmicks.
As entertaining as Steve is - and I can’t even imagine the video he’ll make when the Leafs actually win the Stanley Cup - wouldn’t it be amazing if some guy somewhere in Quebec had a “Habs Fan React” channel? Watching a Canadiens fan lose his shit after every loss (especially a loss to the Bruins) would be YouTube candy for me.
Let them win a President's trophy before losing in the first round. It would need to be in French, with subtitles, to be authentic for Les Habitants.
It's extremely difficult to do what Steve does though, or at least to do it well to the point where you attract a wider audience. You need to be genuinely knowledgeable about not just your own team but hockey in general, you need to be able to think, talk and come up with things to say really quickly, you need to be funny, and toughest of all, you need to be able to get people to enjoy seeing you rant and be miserable, but they also have to like watching you and deep down they need to sympathize with you and wish you some happiness.
Steve walks a very fine line - his rants are genuine in the sense that he truly believes most of what he says, he sometimes gets proper upset and frustrated, and he seriously loves his team. But his exceptional sense of humor is always just below the surface, he wants to entertain, and he keeps perspective. He manages to be sincere and a performer at the same time, and that's hard to do.
I don't like the Leafs, and I enjoy it as much as anyone when they've had a particularly bad game and Dangle tees off. But I'm also at the point where I'd like to see them actually achieve something just to see Steve savor it and bring at least a little positivity to his long-suffering fandom. Preferably not against the Bruins, and perhaps a Cup would be too much, but IDK, a conference trophy, even just a first round win?! I'd accept that, just for poor ol' Steve.
Like the Lightning a few years ago. Remember their celebration of it before the season was over? Thank you Columbus (and Captain Fliggy btw).Let them win a President's trophy before losing in the first round.
