Gonna keep banging the drum for Sykora until he's drafted. If we go by McKenzie's rankings, there's a good chance he'll be available around our pick. If we go by HockeyProspect's, well...we're SOL

If we didn't trade for Copp we would have likely be picking around 22nd and Gaucher would have been a nice 2 way center prospect. If we lose Copp for nothing it is not such a great trade.

Because of other commitments (and not having much interest beyond the first few picks) I listened to much of the draft on radio tonight. At least as much as I could stomach. Steve Kouleas is unlistenable on a daily basis but tonight he was beyond awful. I thought I was listening to the draft on the wrestling channel. He is completely self absorbed, extremely short of deep hockey knowledge and just plain inferior to professionals like Scott Laughlin and Boomer Gordon. I didn’t think anyone could ruin the draft on radio. I was (and am) wrong.

So who we hoping for at 63?

Best players available but unfortunately not centers:

1. Gleb Trikozov
2. Ryan Chesley
3. Tristan Luneau
4. Owen Warren
5. Artyom Duda

We should draft a center though:

1. David Goyette
2. Owen Beck
3. Jack Hughes
4. Jordan Gustafson
5. Adam Ingram

Other centers on the radar:

6. Aleksanteri Kaskimaki
7. Topi Ronni
8. Matyas Sapovaliv
9. Servac Petrovsky
10. Luca Del Bel Belluz

without copp this team wouldnt have made the run it just did. i will take the run and growing experience for the young players here all day over worrying about that pick.

Does anyone else get Marty Byrde vibes from Drury lol

Wake me when he makes it to the NHL in 3 years. Looks like he projects as a winger anyway
That’s a very short sighted view. You need to acquire players who will enter the NHL and play on ELCs in a salary cap world (and staggered). Although I agree the acquisition of Copp was worth the 1st, that doesn’t mean Lambert wouldn’t have been a welcome addition to the organization, who is short on centers.
