Aren't there massive concerns about Lambert's hockey sense?
From the scouting reports/threads I read throughout the season it seemed sounded like while he's got plenty of tools, he really hasn't developed in how he uses them.
Not sure he's a player the Rangers would have looked at even if they'd kept the 1st

We did get within 6 wins of a Cup. Obviously that's not worth much on its own, but our core group got that experience. So, intangible value?

It's a cop out to name the GM of the year the Cup winner. Especially when that team has been at the top of the standings the last number of years. How about a team that hadn't been in the playoffs for 5 years and then gets to the Conference Final in the new GM's first year?

Considering the last gm built most of the Ranger team I'd say it isn't right . Sakic imo deserved it
