For a first round pick sure. Gaucher is about as sure a guy you can pencil into your 4th line 6 years from now that you can pick in a draft.

Skating is his only "weakness" (it is not even that bad), and worse skaters have been taken before him (and not just McGroarty).

Dumb teams are dumb. He should have been taken by now.

That's my point. He's too talented to drop this much based on a factor that I think makes it far too worth it to take a chance on.

Exactly why trading down is likely a good idea. None of them really stand out more than the others unless you really believe in one over the others (and right now, I am not sure I personally do).

I think it’s someone’s job to have that insight. They won’t be identical players after draft day so I want my staff to have that confidence and not leave it to chance. Trade down they might both be gone.
