I still can't compute the option of Slafkovsky.

When your organization don't even have a good 2nd or a good 3rd line center and everything you have as prospect at center is doubtful with not even one being a sure shot NHLer, you can't pass on two centers unless you are entirely sure that winger or defenseman is head and shoulders above the other one.

Still think it will be Wright.

Whether it's today or tomorrow, there is no doubt in my mind that they already know who they pick. So why meet him tomorrow? What's crossing a T or dotting I, if it's not to prepare him for something.

Which is 2 things. We draft you and you will be booed. Or we don't draft you and thank you for you time. Somehow, I feel that the first one is more crossing and dotting and the other. You don't owe kids any explanations why you don't pick them. It would be to go out of their way.

Do we seriously thing we are interviewing him today or tomorrow for additional info? Makes no sense.

maybe there's a trade. just making wwe storylines in my head.

I guess Gorton is really bitter at striking our on Liass Andersson and Kakko and wants to hit a Homer on a big Euro wing

Please just add depth to center by drafting a potential top 6 C. When is the last time this organization had a solid 1 2 punch in the middle?

Baffles me that we would pick a winger with the 12 we have , while we have Dvorak on the block and that Evans is on the third line. Makes 0 sense

Go with the center... at worst he's a winger. I hope Slafkosvky is another Brady Tkachuk...

Nice person has nothing to do with it.

I just don't see him being more than a 25-30 goal scorer, 60 pt winger. Only truly Elite Power Forwards are consistently more than that and I don't think he has the tools to be elite.

And you don't pass on Cooley and Wright for that. Another generational mistake IMO.

Not directed at you specifically but if Slaf is a 60pt winger and there is an elite 1C available, do you really think they would not pick the C ?

If they draft Slaf it’s because they don’t believe in Wright or Cooley being 1C at the NHL level.

I'm a big fan of size and skill, but I'm just not sold on Slaf, at all.

I think his puck skills are overrated and his lack of quickness/agility will hurt his offense at the highest level.

I honestly see a future middle six'er...

I hope I'm wrong and this post is ridiculed years down the line.

Wright has very strong shoulders already, very mature physically, bigger than Slaf.

Still think the Slafkovsky interview is mostly to keep to bluff going with Jersey, from a team building perspective, a winger with question marks now with no center depth makes no sense like it’s been said 10000 times. I can’t believe a wise guy like Hughes will do that.
