If the Habs draft someone other than Wright with the first pick, will their fans boo?

Will we draft with LUCKY number 7 or will we trade it?

My money is on the trade - hopefully not for the rumored Anderson/Dvorak deal...

Ottawa
After digesting all the rumours, interviews, comments, articles and suggestions with regards to the 2022 draft and the Ottawa Senators, I have come to the following conclusion:

Dorion and his scouts have about 4 or 5 players they really like in this draft, where if one of them drops to #7, they will be making the selection, otherwise, I gather they already have a trade or two lined up to pull the trigger if the players they want are all gone before we pick.

I'm good with drafting at 7th or moving the pick...but I'm way more confident in the draft pick being a good acquisition vs a player the team trades for. After all the acquisitions made over the past few years I don't have a lot of confidence in managements ability to find the right NHL players.

Fingers crossed that tomorrow is positive whether they trade or pick.

If the top 6 goes exactly according to Bob's list, who do you guys pick at 7 between Kemell, Lekkerimaki, Savoie, Kasper and Korchinski?

Formenton is getting traded, not in the plan to have to pay him what he’s worth

Until the WJC cloud is lifted I don't see him going anywhere.

He could lift it himself by saying he wasn’t involved.

When Dorion admitted they haven’t really started negoatisting that to me means Dorion doesn’t want to pay him what’s he’s worth, and we know that story in Ottawa. He’s a goner, for whatever reasons

That's the point. Silence became much louder after Mete spoke up.

Mete is also looking to stay in the NHL so h needs to make sure there are no barriers to a signing so a public statement was smart. Formenton will be in the NHL next year.

And I can already tell you the NHL investigation will be a total joke, you think Bettman cares about what happened outside of the NHL. Would the NFL investigate a college foitball team crime - it’s just for show, nothing will come of it. It has no weight, why would anyone tell the NHL what they know if they haven’t told the cops already. It’s a sham masquerading as caring

They likely haven't started with Formenton because he doesn't have ARB rights, there is no rush with him at all.

I have a 100% different expectation of what's to come but let's not hijack this thread.

Also makes sense, but do you think Dorion wants to pay him $3 million +. If there is a plan (which there isn’t) it doesn’t involve paying Nick Paul $3 or Formenton $3 or Connor Brown what’s he’s worth in the high $4s.

Dorion is the worst cap manager in the league and that legacy continues with Formenton.

Norris also doesn’t have arb rights and they started negations with him

You are in the wrong thread.

Well, if some folks think Formenton is a goner, what are the odds of packaging 7th and Formenton to move up to 4th, and hopefully pick up which of the two RDs is left?

Or would teams laugh at that offer?
