I have no clue about how the geography works exactly , but if you live in NJ in close vicinity to the Rock , what do the majority of NJ natives cheer for between the Yankees and the Mets? Or is it a toss up / even ?
Does it somewhat follow something where the majority of Rangers fans like the Yankees , and Devils fans “usually” like the Mets , due to where the stadiums are and relation to how close they are to where most Devils fans usually live ?
I always wondered that.
Same with Giants and Jets? Is it simple as Devils fans usually cheer for (just examples ) the Jets and Mets , while Rags fans are usually Giants and Yankee fans?

I'll break it down as best I can.

I find that the Devils have little to do with any of it. We're a pretty niche fanbase and swing either way in any other sport. The only team in the area I'd guess few of us give a f*** about is the Knicks.

All Italians are Yankees fans unless they have cheese whiz coming out of their eyeballs at a gas station in Cherry Hill.

I'd say the shore is probably evenly split.

The larger cities definitely go to the Yankees.

It's also a generational thing with those teams. People under 40 have never seen the Mets win whereas when I was growing up in the 80's Yankees tickets were practically free.

The Jets and Giants on the other hand are a very distinct regional and class issue amongst white people (no one else gives a shit). Bring a Giants season ticket holder to his first Jets tailgate/game and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

I know I’m old and out of touch but I would never have thought of evaluating the Devils’ fan base by noting it swings both ways.

Yankees have allowed 1 or 0 runs in 10 of their last 17 games. This season is definitely offsetting the Devils/Giants/Nets. If they don’t win the World Series at this point it’ll be a failure.

The Nets were fine given the injuries. I'm also pretty sure it came from pretty high up to shut everything down and attempt to win for the next 3 years.

The Giants? We win every decade. Chill.

The Devils are on an undeniable upward trajectory and the 30+ set have blessed.

A Yankees fan crying? Go home dog.

Catcher interference

There was a walk before that too. Just a comedy of errors.

The HBP was also their specialist coming in specifically to pitch to Rizzo and he hits him with the 1st pitch to load the vases.

Then the second catcher's Interference to score a run before a couple of hits blew the game open.
