I honestly don’t know enough about the kids outside the OHL but I’ll pound the table for Ludwinski and DBB.

Later in the draft I’ll be interested to see where Hamilton Bulldog players such as Jorian Donovan, Logan Morrison, Avery Hayes and Noah Van Vliet go.

.33 points/gm as a 16/17 year-old in Finland's league is shit?
Maybe not.. but its weird he's playing so far over his head that he cant get to a point a game. Im saying who is managing his career to put him in that situation where a scout and see him dangling anyone .. sounds like he was overmatched

Chicago GM trades DeBrincat and Dach and drafts Korchinski at 7? His range was 9-20.
Then drafts Nazar at #13? His range was about 13 to 20.
Then drafts Rinzel? Range was late 1st to 60 LOL.

I rarely visit other boards, but almost want to see the Chicago board. They must want Davidson's head.

Some of the public rankings are suspect to say the least. TSN's ranking is probably still the best barometer and they had Korchinski 11th, Nazar 15th, and Rinzel 31st. Personally thought there was a tier drop after Gauthier/Jiricek, so Korchinski going #7 wasn't that egregious. I had him going #10 to Anaheim. I had Nazar going #8 to Detroit and Rinzel #30 to Winnipeg. TSN had Yurov #14 (lots of other rankings had him top 10-15) based on talent but it wasn't too shocking that he dropped.

Sometimes we make the difference between #7 and #11 seem bigger than it really is. Korchinski was close to the consensus #3D and Chicago took him with Nemec/Jiricek off the board. I thought I was crazy when I had Lekkerimaki slipping to #14 in my mock but he slid to #15 in real life. Centers and D are usually the valued commodities at the trade deadline, so maybe that's why we saw a few wingers drop.

It's a little funny to see how people get married to some stale rankings. Ie, a good number of Montreal fans expending energy to denigrate Slafkovsky the last two months because they were certain Shane Wright was #1 because an old magazine said so.

Both Miroshnichenko and Ohgren would have been nice.
Wow, those Miroshnichenko highlights are fire. If his health issue is under control and not a LT problem, that guy looks to be a star and big-time impact player. Boom or bust i guess with him. But that potential boom is huge. Glad he's going to be in DC and not the Pacific.

Well stated

They are all gone. Bichsel, Lamoureux, Schaefer, and now Warren, and with the Ducks. Sure hope Blake sees what's happening here.

Gut instinct is I don't like it, not because I hate the player, but because he's redundant, feel like the Kings could have done more to snag a real target like last year, quality over quantity. Staying put and selecting a playmaking C doesn't inspire confidence and tells me they didn't do what they set out to do. He's a good pick but nothing to get excited about and Kings clearly see somethign in him a lot of other rankings don't so there's that, and i trust these guys outside the 1st round, but still, bit pot of 'meh' right now.

agreed. Would have preferred either a true power forward or a guy who had an elite shot to build upon. Heck even a goalie....or a trade down / trade out.

BPA. Yannetti said it before, if the best play available is a defenseman, you take the defenseman even if you drafted one the round before. It could also be the bpa on their list was probably drafted before him numourous time and he was next. .
