Thanks! He has some other tools than a snap shot from inside the dot. Most of his goals were very similar and predictable at the NHL. Looks like he’s coachable.
The interesting thing about you saying he looks coachable is that his coach tries extra hard to not coach him and just let him do his thing.Looks like he’s coachable.
That's the player we have been waiting for. This is all against the best team in the WHL:
Exactly right. These aren’t new tools. It’s always about the consistent application of the existing tools.Wow.
Further proof that his skating is fine. It's always been about his engagement.
part of the reason last year was his lack of linemates who could finish. Lots of passes (especially early on last year) where the linemate (looking at you Nash) fanned on a wide open net or shot it into the stands.People were calling him a top 5-7 pick at the start of his draft year. He just couldn't keep that level of play going. I think something clicked at training camp. Maybe it was finding chemistry with someone more pro ready like Doan. Maybe it was getting to watch Cooley do his thing. Either way it feels like Geekie is figuring it out. Long season but this is very encouraging.
Maybe that was part of it. But I saw him standing around or gliding around A LOT last season.part of the reason last year was his lack of linemates who could finish. Not as much as his draft year but more than I hoped. His progress was slower than I wanted. But he seems to be making up for it in double time now. I hope he keeps it up.Maybe that was part of it. But I saw him standing around or gliding around A LOT last season.
i don't disagree on this. I think playing in Winnipeg hurt his game as well. The University of Manitoba ice surface is wider than most conventional arenas which plays much more to the games of Savoie and Bensen who thrive on the extra space versus Geekie.Maybe that was part of it. But I saw him standing around or gliding around A LOT last season.
I won’t miss that camera angle. Maybe the worst in the CHL. I’m also quite pleased that Moose Jaw had upgraded their broadcast technology. I could not watch any home games, only road games. But now it looks nice and normal. What a relief.i don't disagree on this. I think playing in Winnipeg hurt his game as well. Left and Right. But next year.Who are his wingers?
Little Japanese guy was on one wing (Isogai IIRC).Who are his wingers?
I will be in Moose jaw soon. I almost went last night.I won’t miss that camera angle. Maybe the worst in the CHL. I’m also quite pleased that Moose Jaw had upgraded their broadcast technology. I could not watch any home games, only road games. But now it looks nice and normal. What a relief.
Yep, and over-ager Armstrong on the other wing. Things will be shaken up when Savoie and Benson get sent down though.Little Japanese guy was on one wing (Isogai IIRC).
Have you checked out the Deja Vu Cafe with all of the wings and milkshakes? I like that spot.I will be in Moose jaw soon. I almost went last night.
