He needs to start playing less shy and use his attributes more. He's trying to be too safe and responsible. His natural tendencies are already safe and responsible... he needs that agressiveness and intent in his game.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerI will agree with that for sure but maybe Beck gets to Evan's level (what we see today) a few years earlier. Age 25 vs 28 for example?
We will see... Beck is going to start out from the bottom and work hard to move up. Like Suzuki did. Suzuki started 4th line RW in the NHL... didn't last long.
Would you say Beck is a Suzuki light type? Smart like Suzuki and a true type center but not as much offense? If not Suzuki, who would you compare him to?
He had him beat if he put it either 6 inches lower or six inches higher.Next time Beck has a penalty shot on Alllen fake and deke he was looking for it and bit Beck had him
Extremely doubtful but ya never knowMaybe Beck will be ready for the Phil Danualt role already next year: the two way guy between a playmaking winger (Demidov in the Radulov role) and a scorer (Laine in the Pacioretty role):
Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Laine - Beck - Demidov
Newhook - Dach - Anderson
Heineman - Evans - Armia/Gally
Beck is 0-0-0 in 6 games right now. We are in big troubles if he start on our 2nd lineMaybe Beck will be ready for the Phil Danualt role already next year: the two way guy between a playmaking winger (Demidov in the Radulov role) and a scorer (Laine in the Pacioretty role):

Laine plays like he doesn't want to be in the NHL, if he's on our 2nd line next year we're in serious trouble.Beck is 0-0-0 in 6 games right now. We are in big troubles if he start on our 2nd line
Unless he has a different mindset after an offseason of getting healthier and coming to camp in better spirits?Laine plays like he doesn't want to be in the NHL, if he's on our 2nd line next year we're in serious trouble.
He is playing 9:45 a game not having a point in 6 games is normal. Among players who played 5 games or more he's ranking 65th for the lowest amount of TOI. There's nothing wrong with him playing 9:45 it's a good way to bring him in slowly but obviously he's not gonna fill the net with such a low TOI most good established 4th line players play more than that.Beck is 0-0-0 in 6 games right now. You can see he knows how to play hockey and is getting use to NHL speed. He reminds me Danault when he started on our 4th line. How does he look? I've caught maybe 2 periods of this garbage team in the past 2 weeks , I did see him zing one off the post the other day though

Except the real tank hasn't even started yet.He was hurting the tank: "No player had a better expected-goal share than Owen Beck during his four-game stint." Per eyesontheprize... They'll bring him up when winning games will help the team.
Our 'big troubles' are on defence.Beck is 0-0-0 in 6 games right now. We are in big troubles if he start on our 2nd line

Lane Hutson showed he deserved the first PP while he was on the second unit, cause the second unit was better than the first. He is playing 9:45 a game not having a point in 6 games is normal. That's no different than saying "if Beck turns into a goal scoring powerhouse?" To the other poster. Sure if he becomes a totally different player yeah, otherwise we need to plan to not have him there.Unless he has a different mindset after an offseason of getting healthier and coming to camp in better spirits?
I see Beck as a player who should develop into a middle 6 center. He seems to have all the qualities needed to excel in a 3C role, but I can also see how he could contribute well in a 2C role offensively if he's with two highly skilled wingers. He reads the game well, so I think he could mesh with players looking to make skilled plays. He's really smart with the puck and doesn't only look for the simple play.
There was a decent amount of sarcasm in my post. Not counting on Laine doing that. That's no different than saying "if Beck turns into a goal scoring powerhouse?" To the other poster. Sure if he becomes a totally different player yeah, otherwise we need to plan to not have him there.
Beck has a better career as a Guy Carbonneau type player, IMO, and a bigger impact on the team's fortunes.Beck should never think he's a top 6 guy. He should focus on becoming the best 3C in the league and be the PK guy. There's a niche market for those guys and he's got the abilities for it. He's very smart and will get a ton of opportunities on scoring easier goals on the counter offense.
For sure he could help on the top 6 but that will take away his focus from his main strengths. I don't think his game translates into a good top 6 forward.

I think maybe he can be slotted there but with the intention to get him into a poor man's Danault by season's end. Beck has potential to match Danault's level but not next year. I can't see it happening though because I'd be shocked if Hughes doesn't acquire another C (whether Dach is still a hab is TDB, but if he is I can see him being a wing)Maybe Beck will be ready for the Phil Danualt role already next year: the two way guy between a playmaking winger (Demidov in the Radulov role) and a scorer (Laine in the Pacioretty role):

There is a very large gap between Suzuki's puck skills/vision and Beck's puck skill/vision. Beck plays a simple north/south game without a whole lot of creativity whereas Suzuki is far more dynamic and creative. Beck is much closer to Evans than he is to Suzuki.
