Prospect Info: 2022 31st Overall Pick | LW Isaac Howard - Part 2

Truly wonder how this experience influences Howard and his expectations.
Being scratched over and over on a mid WC USA roster might be the reality check he needs to set him straight.
I think it'll humble him quite a bit, but the bridge is still burned with the Lightning. I think the alleged rhetoric about not wanting to spend time in the A from his camp will stop.

I don't think the bridge is burned from the Lightning's perspective. Getting him to the right level of play is what the org wanted.

But having thought for a while about the idea of getting a defenseman for him, which is actually the preferable concept now?

It's very uncommon for a Hobey Baker winner to return to school, and he can talk up the idea that he's going back to alpha dog a national championship, but I don't think he's fooling many people.

I do wonder if it'll be a team like Pittsburgh who needs young talent infusion or a team like Chicago who needs more forwards as well, if Howard is traded.

You'd prefer to keep Howard, but if BriseBois & management decide he's too big of a headache, then a trade at the draft is necessary.

He could be traded anywhere if going to the AHL is an option. Chicago and Pittsburgh's coaches at the World Championships are the ones who are scratching him.

I'm done with Ike. Trade him for a thicc boii we can teach to crash the net and bang. Geekie will get there sooner than later I think. Let's get another one
Yep, I've sorta gotten to this point with Howard. With what we've seen from Ehlers in the playoffs, if that is Howard's highest end ceiling (certainly not the most likely) outcome, plus the effect of his potential distraction, you'd be better off getting forward or defense depth.

I can see him just sitting in the stands holding his Hobey Baker in hand and death staring the coaching staff all game.

I don't see why a team would trade another young forward for Howard, unless they thought Howard had the much higher potential.

We don't even really know if Howard is just some regular season Andy, or if he's got that playoff dawg in him.

He's 5'11 190lbs what could you possibly expect from him in the playoffs that we don't already have in spades. His only chance in the league is if he goes to an offensively starved team lacking depth, look at where he is on team USA, not good enough to be in the top-6 and doesn't have the game for the bottom 6.

He doesn't look like he can generate any offense by himself, especially against men. He's going to need an elite passer to get his goals, if only we had one.
