He's a p***y. And I'd tell him that to his face. I'm the same size. It would be two big guys that don't want to fight

Need him to be chippy at a minimum
Players don’t ever drop that either. He’s not just a p***y, he’s a huge one. That alone will stop him from being a good player.

Oilers deserved to win and Skinner was nails. I honestly didn’t mind how the Kings played—they had their chances and arguably should’ve buried a few on top of being more physical than the last Oilers game. I hope Fiala and Vilardi are healthy by the last game of the season. We need their game-breaking ability against a goalie that dialed in.

.938 SV% from Copper tonight and we still lost. Despite good goaltending you are not gonna win games having only 21 shots on goal. I have worried the Oilers PP could kill the Kings in the playoffs, and tonight was a good example of it. I will add, I was irate with both PP's the Oilers were awarded and I thought the Kings deserved some more PP's. The bottom line is if the Oilers get PP opportunities, they will burn you for it. If the Kings keep it more of a even strength game, then I like their chances. One other thing. Yes, Fiala/GV were out along with Mikey, but as a coach and the team you have to pump more shots goal. I thought at times the Kings passed up basic shots on goal and making traffic/going for rebounds.

Somewhat disagree. Kings were sloppy at times, missed opportunities, bad offensive decisions and some very questionable officiating. Special teams was the difference in the game today. Skinner was solid, but I didn't think the Kings challenge him enough.

It’s pretty interesting how much worse Todd coaches with playoff hockey looming
It was a combination of questionable coaching and bad execution from the team.

It’s the same issue as last year. When Todd gets uncomfortable in high emotion games he will start heavily start relying one or two lines. He ends up burning them out and the entire team naturally falls apart. He’s a self fulfilling prophecy

yeah aside from those breakaways i'm not sure skinner had to work very hard

feels like i was watching kopitar neutralize draisaitl and vice versa and danault neutralize mcdavid and vice versa, then... slop the rest of the way

it was a very poorly officiated game but you can't put that team on the PP 4 times and expect to win unless you're baggin em too, that simple

maybe someday these refs will realize this "call nothing in the 1st and 3rd but call everything in the 2nd" scheme is actually very lame

As a random aside from going to the game.

Don’t take your kids if you’re uncomfortable with people cussing around them. There’s alcohol, it’s a big game, don’t be stupid and give people looks.

These fans in the row ahead of me (oilers fans) with two kids probably 4 - 6 years old both kids, the wife was always kinda glancing back whenever people would cuss. And my dad was kinda pissed from the game so he started cussing too. Especially about someone assassinating McDavid loool.

But nevertheless, don’t take your kids to a sporting arena where there’s alcohol if you don’t like people cussing.

You’re the problem not the people who are cussing.

Your team scares me. They have since last year's playoffs. We were one or two puck bounces away from getting knocked out in the 1st round.

That said, as much as I homered for McLellan when he was in Edmonton I feel like he had a limited bag of tricks. At least in hindsight.

If you guys are going to beat us in a best of seven series I feel like you're going to have to get a little bit dirtier and I'm not sold on McLellan green lighting that? I hope he does but I also remember being distraught over how his team seemed to lack push-back at some key times when he was in Edmonton. He seemed to get a game plan in his head and then just stick with it no matter what the opposition brought to the table, regardless of whether or not it was working. Audibles didn't seem to be his forte.

Either way, here's hoping for an absolute trench battle between us in the 1st round. If we don't all hate each other by the end of the series it will be a wasted opportunity!

So let me get this straight-- two RD dmen, one being Durzi, get scored on while on PK.
So you put them out back together on PK right after you just tied the game on a gift goal.
Meanwhile, LD Bjornfot and Gavrikov are sitting on the bench.
All against a record setting PP.

And TMac has defenders for his in game decision making...
No way Cooper loses that game that way.

Well yea, because Gavrikov can play 2 minutes straight on a PP

And Bjornfoot was absolutely brutal last night

Strength matters - tying up sticks takes strength. He seems weak. What do you like about his game? I dont see it.

Dunno if it's what I like about his game vs the amount of shit thrown at him from this board that makes ZERO sense....

He's lost a bit of his fire....but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it means he's playing in control more, he's 2nd in points, 2nd in blocked shots, 2nd in takeaways,

No one is saying he doesn't make mistake, show me a player who doesn't....but they are very few and far between these days, and the kid is what, 23 years old when most D don't hit their stride til 25 etc...

I think many Kings fans have a low opinion of him in regards to in-game management, ever since his Sharks got reverse swept by the Kings back in 2014. Sutter coached circles around him and McLellan couldn't do anything to stop the bleeding. He's a good systems coach but his lineup decisions and adaptability below average, in my opinion.

How dare you criticize the grand wizard...

A game where they knew they couldn't take penalties, they took too many and it burned them twice. Granted both goals were on gift calls. Tap McDavid on the wrist and he shakes it like it;s broken, penalty. Break Byfield on a shot, nope... slash VA in front of the net breaking his, nope... same with Kalyev, nope. The refs were trash. But given our 4 chances, we didn't do jack. thats concerning. I saw maybe 2 good chances , thats it. They're going to have to figure out how to beat Skinner because he's going Mike Smith on the Kings right now, and he's a rookie. Were not going to see Campbell at all.

Officiating has been funny for a while now......the slash on Byfield, wasn't a slash....Ardvisson definitely slashed him, the Roughing penalty on the Oilers was a weird call, a few trips let go, some ticky tack called.....it's been like that for about a month now, there's no rhyme or reason, were as before, you can see it unfold within the first 10 minutes of a game.....

Feels like the league has said something about types or intensity of calls

Define go after? You mean try and knock him out of the game?

It’s like cold-war MAD, if the Kings intentionally injure McDavid the response will be to do the same to Kopitar or Doughty. The players and coaches all know this, on every team in the league so they don’t do it.

Do you want more injuries on the Kings?

So you're saying just let the Oilers run our guys without anything coming back? Nobody is saying hurt the the guy, but for f- sake put a body on him or something. McDavid knows he can pretty much do anything he wants because nobody is willing to hit him back. He hates getting hit and retaliates almost ever time. Yet no one does a damn thing. The rest of the Oilers also do the same and are all but daring you to come back at them. The did it again last night and we got 4 on 4 instead of a pp.

Disagree on Byfield, when you shoot the puck and your stick breaks as the defender slashes it making contact, it always been called. Even if it was damaged earlier in the shift, it a visual call. Do you think they wouldn't call it if it was Mcdavid?
