Was at the game. Observations.

Lots of kings fans made the Vancouver crowd seem quieter than it really was. Awful home crowd.

The good - Korpisalo - he made some unreal saves. I was in his corner and they were spectacular.
Lizotte and kupari- All over in the forechecking dept. kupari is a beast. He’s gonna be good
Doughty- such a good dude. Only handed out one puck pregame and it was to my kid holding a sign for him asking for a puck.

The bad - macewan. Wtf. He better start using his size more , cuz he’s a total plug with the puck. Least lemmy had hands.
Byfield- he just seems so scattered at times. I was hoping to see more out of him. His shot needs help.

Was a real lazy game. Iafallos goal was an impressive tic tac toe snipe. Other than that , kinda a snore fest.

We need to rest up fiala. What a massive hole in lineup with that guy and gabe gone.

Sorry dude but like the majority of posters on here that is dead wrong. The guy is fast and forechecks like nobodies business. Who cares that he doesn't have hands, he just needs to pound the crap out of the D which he does quite well.

I think the 4th line has been buzzing, but bless MacEwen, i'ts just a game of catch between Grundstrom and Kupari. If they had a third guy who could handle the puck like it wasn't a brick, they'd be even more dangerous, and could be a 4th line that would break a game in the playoffs.

I thought he looked a little better and the 4th line held up.

To be fair the whole team has looked kind of tired lately.

The entire second line looks burned out.
Agreed on all accounts but if Byfield gets credit for the production of the line he's on he warrants criticism. Kopitar is a known quantity. Who is to say that Kopitar and/ or Kempe wouldn't be as productive without Byfield.

Byfield gets his hand held while Grunstrom runs through a brick wall to play his role and in turn generates offense with lesser players with less playing time. Kaliyev scores with limited minutes with lesser players and playing time. From my memory most coaches will value hard work over simply providing offense regardless if the player is young or veteran. Coach Todd is head scratcher.

I still think it's weird Blake acquired a player like that coming off having a shattered jaw.

I'm sure even throwing body checks sends vibrations throughout and can aggravate.

Honestly I thought the guy was just to get rid of Pepe, he would be in the press box most nights, but no, Todd rolls him every game, because a guy with a busted jaw wearing a full-face shield is intimidating AF.

The numbers say that quite starkly, actually. There's a reason that line is sticking together despite some relatively sagging play.
