How are you certain that giving Byfield 60-sec of OT time would have resulted in a win? It was more of putting AI out there....a forward with 3 goals in 26 games (including ample PP time he gets) has no business bieing one of 3 players on the ice in OT.

Any time MacEwen is in over Kaliyev or JAD, is it because you think MacEwen is a better option than those two? So extrapolating, it seems like you are saying the brilliant strategy is have vets do their best to NOT LOSE in overtime and just get us into the shootout. Once in the S/O, we have a chance. All of which makes sense considering we are 4-7 in OT but 6-3 in the SO. Brilliant.

Questions a lineup change? I don’t know about you, but I’m seeing a ton of insults being thrown around….body shaming, character assassination, referencing ‘blumpkins’ with members of this board (which FYI could prob get you banned around here),etc. towards a coach who has us at the top of the league right now. Personally, I’ve got little to bitch about. I’m giving respect where it’s due, it’s a shame that so many others here lack that ability ….scary to think how you act in real life.

And for the record, NOT a fan of MacEwen…don’t really get the Walker hate, I would take him over Edler. But bottom line, I don’t have any idea what goes into these decisions nor do I pretend to.

The AI deployment in OT is especially curious considering he's not a great skater. Byfield is one of the best skaters on the team.

Fans bash coaches and GMs all the time.. we sit in an armchair and wish we could run a team the way we see fit. I like questioning the decisions and seeing what other peoples thoughts are. Those are small details and minor player substitutions you’re talking about. It’s not about the players or even the team really. It’s the love of Todd that comes first. Their posts are all in defense of Todd, because he’s their Todd and he’s an awesome Todd. That’s why there’s no really hockey talk. It’s permanent attack mode on any critics, even simple subjects are hijacked and straw-manned to pieces. Voracious, passionate, never ending defense of Todd. It’s a way of life.

As much as I loathe the coach’s disciples, I’m impressed with Todd’s coaching and while I have gripes about Spence, Kaliyev, and breaking up lines that are working, he’s got them all buying in defensively and playing really well. This type of nuanced opinion is too complex for Todd’s protein dumpsters to process and understand though.

It’s not Walker ‘hate’ it’s just that most think Spence is the stronger player and there is at least an argument there. I think most of us would prefer Walker/Spence over Walker/Edler also. Im not sure why this is directed at me.. Koala is about as far as I go with the nicknames. I mean there is a resemblance right? I dont think its that bad.. I doubt he would be butthurt over that nickname.
