The 1st line took 2 penalties. 1 by Kopitar, 1 by Fiala. And gave up a goal to the Capitals 4th line.

Aside from that they did basically nothing.

I know its only 7 games into the season, but something has got to give soon. This defense and goaltending is going to be the death of this team. We can't sit on our hands

The defense and just overall play in the third was terrible. the first 10 min they couldn't get the puck in deep, and the caps would just take it back and create scoring chances. next thing you know it's 3-2 caps, and not a single scoring chance for the Kings.

Kopitar got beat by Nic Dowd all night. It all started because the Kings couldn't control the puck when they had it time after time. All those won draws by the cap caught up with them and it snowballed.

It was always a matter of time before the bottom dropped out on this blueline/goaltending combo. This has to be one of the most awkwardly constructed bluelines in the league. I understand sometimes there’s just not a trade out there, but Blake should’ve been kicking the tires on possible shutdown LHD all summer long. Maybe he was. Who knows.

The goaltending is being held together only by Quick’s iron will. He’s going to have nights like this because of his age. There’s no way around it.

I really think Peterson may be bought out next summer. He’s no longer an NHL caliber goaltender. Arguably Blake’s worst move since Kovalchuk.

Yeah Kaliyev hasn't looked good at all so far. And now we're going to be back to where Villardi isn't effective because his linemates aren't good enough for him.

I was afraid of that. They miss Iafallo's puck retrieval and hounding. Every line needs one. The reason the second line is so noticeable because they have 3 of them.

I think they're the only team to play 7 games too. Tonight is the Blues 3rd game by comparisson, and they've given up 5. Weird thing is, the Kings are near the top for goals scored. Been an odd start to say the least.
