It's early, but there is a lot wrong with this team right now, including some glaring issues being further exposed that were not addressed in the offseason

How many people are terrified to give up anything for Chychrun? And if he's not a top 4D, then name the top 4D than were traded for nothing? Or at all, really. Anyone want an ancient Burns to add to the collection?

Grit; you have to have to move bodies out to bring bodies in. Who goes? Try it without saying Iafallo.

And there's nothing to be done about the goalies. And no, Petersen isn't going to Ontario.

Nah, the Blues shutout the soilers 2-0, but you're right, the Kings have had quite the schedule. So the hope is that it's mostly the schedule.
 
What the roster smacks of is indecisiveness .. in fact everything does, not just the roster. the question of 8 and 11 and where they belong - how to raise the youngsters, what to do with the blue line.. you play the fence too long you lose your options. You have to make decisions. Usually you dont make decisions when you dont know what you want.

I still can’t comprehend how they went from a gutsy occasional mistake defensive structured team to just completely not being able to play team defense. Just by adding Fiala and putting Doughty back in there.

And it’s not like TM has them playing pond hockey, he’s still running them as a 1-3-1 counter attack team. But yet brain farts everywhere and goalies that can’t make a stop to save a life.

Clarke was a turnover machine tonight. I stopped counting how many times he forced a pass up the ice (rather than use his defensive partner) only to have Washington come roaring back up the ice with the puck. Ended up with a -2.

Couldn't get pucks out of the zone cleanly, couldn't get pucks deep into the Caps zone cleanly.

And it was, well everyone, but guys like Clarke and Byfield were doing it. Or not doing it. Which, I think the theory would be, this kind of game gets the team further from the playoffs, but closer to the Cup. At least if TM keeps throwing them out there.

couldnt watch the game but listened here and there on the radio- difference seems to be Spenc/Bjornfot are better than Walker/Durzi. Not an ideal situation for Clarke anymore. Getting beat soundly regularly by vets- not worth burning a year with Spence ready for the callup.

D that are available in the King's price range? Vets with problematic contracts teams want to move. OEL, S. Jones, E. Karlsson types. Between Cal & Walker the King's have some shorter term bad cap to balance things out. Yes, 2 of those are righty & don't fix the imbalance. Not very exciting options.

Yea TM keeps throwing Clarke and Byfield out there thats why they lost. Now do you breakdown of Kopitar getting beat by Dowd to start the comeback.

As I said, everyone was doing it, but we shouldn't care about the vets, so if the young guys are getting repeated chances to f*** up, and learn from it, over the long term, that should get the team closer to the Cup.

I see what you mean and agree. I thought you meant the loss was on them. My bad.

Isn’t this what we all wanted?? Oh wait, some wanted this as long as we won but that’s not how development works.. I have zero worries about the errors Byfield and Clarke commit, can’t say the same for others but as KF mentions that’s how they’ll learn.

Kopitar is a third liner. Todd needs to be fired he has no idea what he’s doing

Of course if that is the way this season goes, it'll be in spite of what Blake wanted. Which is probably true. Which could be a good thing, or could be a bad thing.
