They've been playing well lately, beat WPG 2x, the Pens 3x, took the Wild to a shootout, beat a streaking Buffalo team, etc.
We should beat them but it might not be very easy. Hoping for one of those games where we come out dominant.

We should beat them but it might not be very easy. Hoping for one of those games where we come out dominant.
I notice a thing league wide that one team is coming out dominant in the beginning and if they dont score and capitalize on their chances they end up losing the game. The other team makes adjustments in between the first and second and makes their big push in the third because you cant go a full 60 at full blast.
So when you come out swinging from the puck drop you have to score.
Free points in the sense that it's not a conference or division game.

If I was him or the agent I would be demanding a trade. Coaching/management decisions are costing him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
If the objective was to showcase Walker/Durzi before the deadline for a suitor, that time has come and past.

To be fair...if you WERE him....you'd have MUCH MORE INFORMATION TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION ABOUT IT....than you do right now

Unfortunately we're playing contracts and ages rather than players.

It’s very difficult to come up with a hockey reason for sitting Spence. Granted it’s a small sample size of performance but he can’t build on that sample without opportunity.
Even if you were bias towards Walker it’d be difficult to say he was better than Spence. You can maybe say it’s close defensively (I put Spence a little ahead) but once we have the puck Spence is better in every way. Given Spence is the guy with all the upside I just don’t get the thought process.

If Durzi is out long term and another defenseman gets hurt down the stretch or in the playoffs, then what? Are we sure we don’t want to get Spence some more reps while the pressure is still relatively low?
There is no thought process. Walker is in because he's the vet and Spence is not.

can't play the kids, its early in the season and they're not ready, have to set the tone
can't play the kids, we're getting buried right now, need the vets to steady the ship before we let them loose
cant play the kids, too many injuries, they'll be exposed higher in the lineup
can't play the kids, these games are meaningful now, we need every point
can't play the kids, literally every point counts, these are essentially playoff games
can't play the kids, it's the playoffs and they've barely got any games, so how can we trust them? They're not ready.
