I know everyone is upset about Spence (i am too) but I'm more upset about Copley starting. We traded for Korpisalo, hes the one we need to see play right now. He actually is putting up real goalie stats and we need to know if he can carry the mail.
It's hard to Wally Pipp Copper if he gives the team no reason to do so

WOOOOOO thanks for your service jordan, HIT THE f***IN PRESS BOX KIDDO!
We all knew this was coming. He deserves more time. He can slot in for Durzi and Walker and I think we wouldn't miss a beat.

On one of the PDOcast that was posted (by someone here, sorry, forgot who) with some talk about Kings goalies (which I never found, but ended up listening to their conversation anyway), they mentioned Fleury's deployment last year with the Wild. Minnesota basically 50/50 the two goalies all season long and both goalies posted very good numbers. Then they decided to roll with Fleury only for the playoffs and that was all she wrote for the Wild's playoffs bids.

I say King's split goalie duties through the playoffs. Copley has at least earned that. What have they got to lose? The cup? Right, this was our year....
For the long grind that is the regular season it's just better common sense to maintain a goaltending duo. It keeps both of them fresh and sharp for the long haul. (Even Ullmark starts only 50~60% of Boston's games) Also unless it's obvious, it allows allows the coaching staff to evaluate both and decide who to ride in the playoffs where teams usually start one.

This wasn’t your typical 50/50 where you ride a hot goalie for a few games and then switch. I think they mentioned that they went every other game, truly 50/50.

I would be furious if we ran game one with Copley. He is a warm body in net, a decent back up nothing more. We outscored his deficiencies. By every metric including eye test he's not as good as Korp.

It doesn’t work like that or are you saying that ant failure is on the players only too? You can’t have it both ways. I’ve made it clear I’d play Spence ahead of Durzi and Walker, whilst also playing Björnfot. However, they have gotten an awful lot of things correct. The move of QB to LW1 for example was genius. I’ve been very critical at times but your take is based on little fact.

Anyone not accepting any criticism is as equally unrealistic.

I can agree with that. Well said. There has been some great decisions upper management has made. Vilardi going back to the AHL who surprisingly thrived, QB on the first line.

But for every one of those we have equal if not more mistakes made. Sitting Spence, QB, Vilardi while AA, Stetcher in game 7. This frankly bizarre fascination with veterans TM has. Terrible game management (allergic to time out being used).

I kept a pretty good eye on Spence last game thinking to myself 'this guy is playing like a strong third pairing defenseman'. A little nervous in the first but really locked it down after. Yet he gets rewarded with that great performance with being benched.

Reminds me a little how Grunstrom played incredible well and was benched the next game.

Or Korpisalo played rock solid last game and gets to be sat the next game. Sigh.

The other half could be on Blake. I feel he firmly believed injuries would have been a greater part of the season and did not plan any trades. As a result the opportunity for Spence to be in the roster was minimized.

I'd certainly have Arty in there over Grundy, he's looked terrible lately. If he wants to play the new guy, so be it. Maybe the team does want that tough element, they just couldn't with Lemmy because he got whistled for breathing on people.

Can't think of any reason to have Walker in over Spence, though. Jordan looked fantastic.

Weird start with 3rd line, Walker icing give up a high danger shot

Could be that TM rotates these guys in the rest of the way. You are going to need depth going into the playoffs, everyone's got to be ready to go.
Probably would stand to reason that a guy like Spence would need more games than a vet like Edler, no? If everyone is gonna need to be ready to go come playoff time.

Funny when people say that crap.

Doughty definitely will be like Quick if he gets traded he will suddenly stop sucking on the PP. you can tell Doughty is playing some extremely lazy hockey.
Nobody going to want that Doughty contract, yuck

Shut up Alex you jinxer
