bugs me that only goal NSH scored was on a suspect penalty PP.. another thing is in these tight checking games this one and v minne Kings came up short. I think they need to change their style more when these kind of games evolve.. go more north south / dump and chase and grind it out.
Sutter hockey would have been perfect for the bad ice tonight.

when has

@All The Kings Men Jesse can you ask McClellan why Gabe doesnt get any looks in OT... in Canada he would be shredded
Austin Stanovich asked him last week.

Austin is a young reporter who attends almost every practice and game, asks tons of great questions, isn't afraid to follow up on hard questions and does pregame previews, postgame articles and practice reports.

EDIT: anybody who wants to complain about a lack of consistent independent coverage... here's a kid trying to give you what you want.

Appreciate that.. Ill follow him (i dont twitter follow, but i do check in on guys i like).. thx

I couldnt find anything re Vilardi (so far).. do your recall what TMac said in response to that question?
Something along the lines of "That's just how we do it"

sorry to make you go on a wild goose chase

there is no satisfying answer and that's just kind of the deal you know?

EDIT : He might not have included it in an article because the answer didn't offer up any real information. I chose not to use it in the pregame audio because... there wasn't really anything to say about it.

MacEwen is soon going to be a gigantic whipping boy around here, and deservedly so. Kings look like they threw away a 5th to downgrade from one borderline 4th liner to an even worse borderline 4th liner
McEwwwwen... main thing I notice is he has no hands. Passes bounce off his stick. @bland feels he's an OK pickup. He wrote about earlier in the week. Im still not seeing it.

Ie, there's no rational explanation or he wouldve explained it. Thats a weird thing not to deploy Vilardi a guy who has the nastiest hands on the team - that if he got any time and space (which happens aplenty 3 on 3) would flick the puck in the net. And if the answer is his skating.. Iafallo is out there with same level of skating ability. Some strange deployment decisions on top of Walker's presence over Spence and then on pp2 and OT.. real head scratcher what they see in Walker.

For no reason either, JAD provides more for less.

Since much has already been said, I'll only say a couple of things.

1. Copley played a fantastic game tonight. Goaltending is one area we won't have to worry about the rest of the season.

2. We need Fiala back ASAP.

Meh, messy ice and you can't win them all. Losing sucks, but with the lousy ice, probably hard to get going.

Still find it ironic people defending sitting Spence to play Walker to keep a regular rotation, yet no rotation is utilized to keep Kaliyev and Bjornfot warm.

But surely when they hit the ice again after 6-8 games of sitting they'll be admonished for not being sharp.

MacEwen had a strong game last night, if you guys couldn't see that, well, its not exactly surprising. The Kings 4th line was more effective last night than at any point in the last ten games.

yeah that 4th line was definitely playable last night. when they do what they did in the 1st and come out and bang, it's a line that todd can/will play. it's a tempo change

don't get me wrong though, he's not a good hockey player

I’m sorry, aside from a few hits they were putrid. Kupari is the biggest example. Turbos into the zone, deked a player, and promptly coughs it up or makes a similar kill the play move. They rarely accomplished anything. Rather see JAD and Kaliyev.

I'm not sure what was worse last night: the ice, the PP or TMs decision making.

I've never seen ice that bad before. There were players falling all over the place all game. Ridiculus.

Most of the Kings players looked like they were out late last night on a bender. Maybe the most boring hockey game i've ever attended. Not sure how considering it went to OT/SO....but it was.

listened on Radio....Miffed that Spence was sat, more miffed Walker was getting quality PP time and time in OT.

If you were looking for a replacement for Durzi on the PP- wouldnt the guy getting top TOI in Ontario and the #1 QB on BB and 4th leading scorer for Dmen be a good place to start? Why a 28 year old guy whose career high was 24 pts over a season would have been a better choice over Spence just a strange decision. This was a perfect game situation for Spence- a midlevel team who is going to a youth movement. You had a chance to see how he faired and instead rolled with a 28 year old bottom 6 dman who the team would glady have traded for a 5th rd pick.

Happy with Kings in the standings but just round of "tmac gunna tmac."

Did you watch the overtime and think Doughty Kopitar Walker and Iafallo were going to do anything? Byfield would do well in overtime and you know it.

sometimes you think TMAC just roles with "What would make the least sense" and rolls with it.

Todd dont need no stinking time outs…
At times i think todd has absolutely no idea of situational awareness at all

Was always my criticism of him....good coach for game planning and initial strategy but in game decision leaves lots to be desired.

Leave Byfield alone. He is only 20. He comes back on D. He is learning from Kopitar. Two things. Get the Clippers out of Crypto arena. They played today and that’s why the ice was shit. Besides Byfield. How the f*** does Vilardi not play in OT?
uhmm.. maybe i am totally wrong here but the Predators played on the same ice.

This game is exactly why i think we have no business contending and make it far.
Our game style has 0 creativity or skill to force a goal if Kempe or Villardi are not doing their stuff multiple times.

Playing Muppet teams on a constant base is masking this exct issue

its important not to start a period with any momentum.
apparently so...cant think of any good reason for it myself

That is the opposite of a blandishment :) we all have our levels of hockey insight
