Yeah the Edler Durzi pairing didn't go great tonight. That's a bit of a concern. Todd gonna have to tweak that.

Roy is an excellent player. Now that he's with Gavrikov, that second pair should really bloom, and we saw that tonight.

Most of Durzi's terrible plays were on the left, not sure what the heck he was doing over there all night. Maybe just used to it? He hasn't looked good in quite a while, he's been exposed a lot more lately than he was in the middle of the season.

I'd rather see Walker in there right now, to be honest.

Hey, we all have misses. I also would have traded Turcotte when he still had high value. I can at least admit when I am wrong on something, maybe you should try it sometime.

But thanks for actually making a truthful comment for once and not lying and making stuff up like you usually do. Maybe if you keep that up you won’t be a laughing stock like you are on this board.

Sorry if this post was to long for you, we know your reading comprehension is challenged by posts longer than one sentence.

Just curious when did Turcotte still have high value? Or even value relative close to his draft position? Because even his first year in college he struggled with injuries/mono(?).

Look at the 2nd pairing...pretty cool to see that. Edit: Durzi without Roy says alot

I mean moving from Roy to Edler would impact anyone’s numbers imo.

it's not necessarily to say that it's a bad thing, he just needs something to help drive that line 5v5 and frankly kaliyev ain't it. they take such incredibly short shifts because they can't maintain o zone possession or they're one and done on the rush
Agreed. In a vacuum: would love to see Moore with Kupari. Puck would not stay in our end for long.

I honestly thought/assumed they were going to give one of the three stars to Korpisalo tonight.

Also this team need needs to rid themselves of both Durzi and Walker in the off-season.

Clarke will be extra hungry to take 1 of the spots and you’ll have Spence nipping at his heels.

Grundstrom will be what the Doctor ordered for the post season.

Anyone have a gif of Fiala on the bench after he scored? They showed him on the big screen and he knew it and did some dance.

I would have moved on at the 2020 draft after what he showed at UW. And you are right, it wouldn’t have returned a Top 5 pick they used to draft him. But GM’s would still value a player they all universally considered a top 3-8 prospect just a year before. Enough where the Kings could have gotten a 15-20 pick that year.

And man, it seems like everyone is just done with Durzi. I still like him, he just needs the right partner.

Feels like Durzi is just pressing too much, he needs to slow down make the safe play and quit thinking too much. Maybe give him a night off.

Yeah I noticed that, I was going to say something but forgot. But that is what he does, he makes stuff up about comments that people like me, you, RJ, KP, Sol and others never made. He is a pathetic troll poster that can’t have an intellectual conversation on the facts so he makes stuff up and makes troll posts like this.
How f***ing ironic...

90% of the posts generated by the All-Star team in bold are SHITTING on the Kings. But you are calling others trolls? Ha....ha....ha. GTFO.

Glad to see Korpi get a game in for you all last night. He was so good with CBJ this year. You're going to like both he and Gavi. Both great in the room and Gavi is funny as hell. He's a character. One of most loved by CBJ fans for his game, attitude and personality. Korpi was loved in the locker room and a stand up guy. I wouldn't be shocked if he's not your #1 heading to playoffs. Best of luck. You got two really good pieces. Underrated deal that people will see in short order.

There’s something about Gabe’s celebrations that makes me really enjoy him as a player.
He’s like Doughty in that way. He just f***ing loves playing hockey.

Thanks for stopping by. I just hope we can re-sign one or both—it’ll make giving up a 1st when we’re not quite contenders more palatable.

Not particulary good game but I like what I saw from Gavrikov and Joonas
Uncle Joonas

Only because we have a couple other options that are mystery boxes. Us here love mystery boxes!

Durzi has value and could be used as a trading chip to plug holes. Spence or Clarke could fill that 3rd line spot pretty effectively, I feel most of us can agree that Spence has spent more than enough time in the AHL and is ready for full time duties in the big league. Durzi can play the left side, albeit he is not in an optimal role there. His cap hit is low enough for any team to take his contract.

It’s all about getting max value. It was apparent (IMO at least) that there was not a high end piece there with him and there would have been a better shot finding that with a second 1st in 2020 to go along with QB. But in fairness, teams very rarely move someone that quickly, they usually go down with the ship.

I agree that Spence is ready, I just wish it were replacing Walker. I just think people magnify Durzi’s mistakes and don’t give him enough credit for the good things he does. We will miss him if/when he’s gone.

No, those people have a balanced opinion of the team, they can argue the good and the bad. It’s funny you mention irony and cite made up (ofcourse) stats. All those people have posted more positive things than you have posted negative, and it’s not even close. But of course you would think not having 100% approval of everything the team does is trolling, while defending a literal troll with multiple examples of making things up that no one said.

I’ll take that group and you can take fake-news clowns like your buddy TKF. His contributions to the board are just so outstanding, we should all strive to be more like him and less like KP and RJ, got it.

I wonder what kind of contract Vilardi will sign next. His current deal is up this summer. He'll be 24 at the start of next season. I think we're going to have another 4M+ forward on the books next year.

We actually need 2x LHD in the offseason if the organization isn't ready to give Bjornfot a big role.

6 years, $25-30m. There is going to be no discount, this season was the discount that the Kings are enjoying.

The Kings may very well just roll with 4 RHD next season, other teams do it. I think we got so used to the 3RD/3LD from the Lombardi era that we just assumed it’s always going to be that way.

Ideally you wish Bjornfot had one of those spots, but doesn’t it seem the writing is kind of on the wall with how the organization feels? He made the team out of camp in his 1st season yet can’t crack the lineup at the end of his 4th? Gavrikov would be nice but the money is going to be tight because of the stupid CP contract and you have to factor in the aforementioned Vilardi extension. The Kings are unlikely to win an open market FA battle if he’s just looking for the most money.

I would think a Kempe like contract with longer term if the team is confident enough about his ability to continue improving.. I think he is, so I think he’ll get a 5/6 year deal with a ACV of $5-$6 when you look at Cozens, Boldy and the other young players that have signed recently.. or, and this is what I would try to avoid, he signs a 2-4 year deal with a lower ACV than Kempe got..

The Kings will need to move one of Iafallo or Ardvisson this off-season.. if the market is there and prices remain similar to the TDL, then I’d consider maximizing their value and moving both plus Durzi..

Iafallo and Durzi to Buffalo plugs two holes they have and we’d easily get a 1st ++ for both..

Arvidsson would be a perfect fit in Pittsburg and maybe we can pry Owen Pickering away..

Lots of options but for now, let’s enjoy the ride!

Yesterday I learned I want the Kings to be built like the Knights.

I’m glad he’s here to reveal such hidden truths about each of us.
Awwww….look at that circle jerk between Herby and SR10. Gotta console each other after exposure, right? Yeah. And by the way, I ASKED if you wanted to build the Kings like your beloved Knights. Whose comprehension is lacking? :thumbu:

Bjornfot is only 21. IMO most defensemen don't really figure things out until their mid 20s. I think he will be fine.

By all indications, Gavrikov is looking to cash out. Looking for the highest bidder this offseason. Usually those aren't the type of guys you want to sign.

The trade market is still an option for acquiring an LHD. If we could trade one or two of Spence, Durzi, Grans for a long term solution at LHD that would be ideal IMO.

I think Vilardi could cost as much as 6M if the Kings want to lock him up long term.

I still say Moore should not have been given that contract.

I'd like to see this next year:

Anderson-Doughty
Bjornfot-Roy
Gavrikov Type-Clarke

Extend Roy. If Bjornfot is getting it together by the TDL, you make a move there.

That's pretty much it

Either of Durzi/Spence has to go for picks as well as Arvidson AND Iafallo.
Gavrikov needs to be signed since he looks rock solid same as Korpisalo

Will be very confusing to have the Copulator and the Korpulator in goal

I just want you to know I appreciate this every single time

Posted this at the beginning of the thread but basically pick 2:

Gavrikov
Orlov
Ghost
Dumolin
Dunn
Graves
Soucy
Mikkola

And work on moving salary elsewhile

The $$$ moving should/will come from forwards as we have infinity in Ontario knocking on the door for exactly this purpose
