I dunno, seems pretty dumb. How may careers starts does he have there in his career? 5? Then again, Todd, dumb, guess it makes sense.
I agree, in the playoff hunt they decide to drop a game potentially to stroke Quicks ego?

I'm guessing the more likely scenario is:
- Quick's actually on a winning streak
- he's playing better than earlier this season
100%. And the HOPE (how Blake operates amirte?) maybe that he regains a semblance of good form. The gaslighting of Kings management for who starts in goal is hilarious.

I would hardly call it a winning streak.. 3 wins after losing 9 in a row.. but of the 3 wins none had save pct > .900, one he gave up 5 goals v Az, the win he got v Ducks he gave up 2 goals in 1 period of play... his start on Friday was solid even if the save pct < .900. Id call it a 1 game streak.

If Quick can regain form it would be huge right now. Big IF tho.
Last time Copley missed an expected start he shit the bed 2 games in a row.. i wouldnt f*** with what is working.. if JQ plays well, im not sure what it buys you, maybe a platoon that could sink both goalies.

Even in his wins he's looked terrible. People saying he looked good the last game, the kings controlled the game in front of him..
I agree he hasn't been great, but I do think he looked better than earlier in the season.

For sure.

The thought that lineup decisions are to placate any player's ego is... puzzling to me. That's in complete contrast to the general complaint of the team's over-reliance on veterans to win now at the expense of the future. Can't have it both ways, either you are icing the lineup you think gives you the best chance or you're not. I might have a different view from the staff on what the best lineup is, but they certainly aren't trying to massage any egos.

But then again, the general consensus around here is that the management and staff suck. That's not uncommon for fanbases, but given their spot in the conference they have to be the best sucky management group ever. Some will point at year-over-year totals and say they didn't improve much, but each season is different. With as many games that have been played against similar teams, it's obvious that the Kings are doing better this year relative to their peers.

Nope, false news

I would also start Quick.
Best game vs Isle
Manufactured a win streak.
Team playing better in front of him.
Moving back into the net Quickly after making the initial save.
Super motivated playing in his home, the north east.
Does not want Blake to axquire another goalie putting him potentially behind two other GT's.

Copley not looking as good , has now been scouted, staying a lil bit too deep in his net.
Teams scoring on him a lot in the same way up under the bar the only consistent space .
Some additional losses.
Back to earth play was predictable.

Still short leash for Quick.
The Rangers are explosive and dangerous.
I would settle for one point, realistically.

It's my opinion, sure, but I've been religiously following this franchise for around thirty years. If on Tuesday I look and see MSG on the schedule for Sunday and I immediately wonder if they will play Quick, there's something to it.

Now, if he was awful on Friday then they wouldn't do it but to downplay the Quick in MSG thing is to say you haven't been paying attention for the last ten years or so.

And to add, it isn't an ego stroke. They still think they can win the game with Quick in net and they are betting on him to come up big in his last game there.

I wonder if Quick retires this year or if he signs with the Rangers to back up Shesterkin next year. I don’t think he’ll be back in LA. Rangers went with Halak this year but have no backup signed for next year. You never know.

That wouldnt suprise me now that you mention it if he wants to keep playing... The Cal thing means they need to go spend on a #1.. and inking Copley for next season means they wont be looking for another #2.

If Quick signs elsewhere I'm thinking Buffalo an up and coming team that needs a goaltender that's a vet to help the youngsters coming up through the system
