Honestly, JAD should be a fixture in this lineup already. There is no reasonable argument for having more scoring wingers on the 4th line. You cannot win this way, you need players who know when the right, boring, safe play must be made. You won't get that with Vilardi and Kaliyev on the 4th line.
Been saying this all year, this team is an easy out playing with this roster makeup. If you scratch JAD on favor of Kaliyev you are hurting your chances to win games. The Kings were lucky that the Ducks and Yotes were miserable offensive teams.
The Kings have nobody along the wing that plays to hold leads with the lineup they iced over the last two games. The previous run of games saw a much more balanced team that had a line that could simply forecheck and tilt the ice. Last two nights saw one energy, one style of play that isn't conducive to killing games. Once they stopped pushing for offense, the door was wide open for comebacks.
Be it JAD, who is already here and thriving of late, or new outside acquisitions, the Kings will be blown out in the first round without a 4th line that can dial down the tone of the game when needed.
