This Wild team is good at home. 18 wins. 6th most in the NHL.

Gustavsson has been excellent in net. 5th best goals saved AE per 60.

It says Bjornfot is in the lineup again is that true? And Kaliyev for Lemieux has to be true right? What's happened to Grundstrom he's fallen off the Earth

I can't speculate on Lemieux/Kaliyev or Edler/Bjornfot because the team is in Minnesota and to the best of my knowledge morning skate was optional today....

HOWEVER

re: Grundstrom

He's been on IR since January 19th

He just started skating in full colors yesterday morning so he should be activated relatively soon

Dont the Kings need to make room for him on the roster once activated? I wonder how he feels 3 slots away (JAD, Lemieux) from playing regularly... to say theres a log jam of forwards is an understatement.. and I dont think its wise to scratch your #1 pp goal scorer to let guys rotate in.

Should we capitalize on Lizotte's trade value since it's at its highest currently.

We do still have an abundance of centers in the org ; Kopitar, Byfield, Danault, Vilardi, Turcotte, Kupari, JAD, etc.

The problem is the 3C position .. it would be great if GV could handle it but most opine that he cant. I do think Lizotte is expendable as is AI. Turcotte cross him off every list for NHL duty.. the dude cant stay healthy in the A for more than a month.

Seems like a potential crossroads as waiver exempt guys are playing significant roles.
Will Blake send down Kupari and have someone take his spot on the PK, or send down someone who could get claimed, or make a trade

Interesting thought but no.
Especially right now with him clicking with Fiala, heading on a crucial road trip, for playoff position.
Other GM's would probably attribute his production to Fiala and not offer a significant return .
Not enough to disrupt chemistry and what he brings regardless.
JAD is on pace for 20 points and has almost a 60% win rate in the dot. I think he could work as a 4C plenty well.
I don't think Blake would put JAD on waivers, he has had a mini breakthrough and he would be gone.
Taking the temp on trade proposals here and everyone wants a piece of the Kings player pool.
GM's are watching , salivating.
Super interesting trip for a lot of reasons.

I like JAD, but I am unsure of how much hope I have for him at this point. He could become a fixture bottom 6 player, but all likeliness suggests that he will be tossed to the wayside. We have a severely logjammed roster, he will never beat out Lizotte who technically should be a 4th line center, but we have to force place pedigreed prospects into the lineup to get experience and earn their spots from the veterans exacerbating the logjam.

While JAD would probably work fine as the 4C, the Kings literally have like 10 players that could fulfill the role all the same. At this point, it would almost be better for JAD to explore elsewhere as Amadio did. Hopefully, the Kings can find a similar trade like they did for Amadio.

Feels like a slow start is due. Then again we could just jump out to another huge lead and then start the game with 5 min left in the third when the other team ties it.

Honestly, JAD should be a fixture in this lineup already. There is no reasonable argument for having more scoring wingers on the 4th line. You cannot win this way, you need players who know when the right, boring, safe play must be made. You won't get that with Vilardi and Kaliyev on the 4th line.

Been saying this all year, this team is an easy out playing with this roster makeup. If you scratch JAD on favor of Kaliyev you are hurting your chances to win games. The Kings were lucky that the Ducks and Yotes were miserable offensive teams.

The Kings have nobody along the wing that plays to hold leads with the lineup they iced over the last two games. The previous run of games saw a much more balanced team that had a line that could simply forecheck and tilt the ice. Last two nights saw one energy, one style of play that isn't conducive to killing games. Once they stopped pushing for offense, the door was wide open for comebacks.

Be it JAD, who is already here and thriving of late, or new outside acquisitions, the Kings will be blown out in the first round without a 4th line that can dial down the tone of the game when needed.
